Canvasser Manager (Former Employee) - Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire - 26 September 2018
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedExpected to pick up all Canvassers from home addresses, then in at your local Branch for around about 10am unless any one has organised a Canvass or full Branch meeting for the next day (which can happen quite often) in which case in the branch for 8:30 9:00am in the morning. Expected to work until the branch if fully kicked off & backed up or 8:30pm at night. (Kicked off means all 6,6:30 & 7pm apointments for the Sales Reps are booked in and belled on). (Backed up means that all small measures I.E single windows and door leads are booked in & belled on for 7:30 8:00 & 8:30 appointments for the Sales Reps. then sometimes back to branch to hand in other leads or straight home dropping all Canvassers off at home addresses.
Pros
Immediate money (cash in hand) & Raffle prizes from time to time
Cons
very long Unsociable hours paid commission only as a self employed person but treat as Employed.

Wouldn't recommend
Sales Agent (Current Employee) - Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire - 29 January 2020
There is little in the way of management or training.
The quality of the leads varies hugely with only a handful of them being genuine customers looking to buy. The 'management' (used loosely) play a game of favourites providing the better leads to the reps that are currently in favour and sending the others on wild goose chases, if you complain about a lead being unsuitable you are guaranteed a week of minimum leads and leads of poor quality.
Despite claiming to be trying to clean up the company image there is still a culture of the hard sell, often to vulnerable people, and managment offering heavy discounts to entice them to buy at the expense of any commission for the rep.
Pros
You'll have plenty of free time
Cons
Driving long distances for no reward

Door to Door Sales/Call Centre Worker (Former Employee) - Hull City Centre - 14 March 2016
The hardest part of the job was speaking to all the different types of people, it was hard to build the reppore with some of the customers.
A typical day at work was getting picked up and took to the office we would have breakfast at the office and then sent out in our groups 8 till 8.The most enjoyable part of this job was making new freinds in the workplace and having a laugh with them.
I learnt to be very patient with people and give 100% in everything i did.
Pros
free lunches
Cons
long hours

Positive work atmosphere but failing in job production
door sales (Former Employee) - Hull - 4 February 2015
Typically I'd turn up to work and mill about for an hour or so before work commenced. There was a communal pool table so that was pleasant to break the ice. After we played a few games we would get in to our groups and head out for the day.

Field based work
Canvasser (Former Employee) - Kingston upon Hull, ENG - 27 September 2014
A typical day at work consisted of cold calling, trying to sell energy efficient windows and doors. The hardest part of the job was trying to persuade a customer why they should replace there windows with the new energy efficient ones. The easiest part of the job was talking to a customer who understood your point of view. The co-workers were fantastic.
Pros
Own hours
Cons
Commission

fun and rewarding place to work as you have the control the influence your own earnings
sales executive (Former Employee) - Hull - 19 March 2014
the only reason I left this position is because it was a zero hour contract and I have reloted to bristol not to find a job, but a career.
on a typical day we would make outbound calls which we would sort out by priorotiy. the managment style was set out well and enthusiastic, the hardest part of the job was the fact it was a zero hour contract and with me being an amibitious and money motivated indiviual I found this quite annoying, the most enjoyable part of the job was the fact of it being commision so I could influence my own earnings.
Pros
commision so can influence my own earnings
Cons
zero hour contract

Rubbish and that's been polite
Canvasser/ team leader (Former Employee) - Hull - 15 February 2013
Worst company ever interview they tell you your going to be earning silly money and to be fair that's true because for 50-60 hours a week £30 is silly its all commission based you get a basic for 10 weeks and if you don't get targets you don't get basic and plus its only about £50. You don't have a social life what so ever even the free KFC and chip runs on a night and free breakfast is just not worth it, I'd say the best thing about this job was the Christmas night out. It's full of pot heads so if you have a criminal record this job is perfect Bcoz they really do take anybody on.
Pros
hahaha none
Cons
too many to mention
