Absolute nightmare as well as false guide lines
Market Researcher (Former Employee) - Peterborough, Cambridgeshire - 20 March 2018
I worked for this company at the end of 2017 and i was under the impression that i would have a good wage evrry week. Unfortunately i ended up having 2 or 3 weeks of getting nothing. I was promised a team leader role at which point i found out was rubbish. The office staff didn't do the jobs properly. You are basically going out and about knocking on doors unexpectedly and advertising the company without getting paid for it. You walk around for miles as well as days and dont get any recognition for it. One if the most unpleasant and disgusting jobs for them to advertise.
Pros
Free car
Cons
No wages e.g. working for absolutely nothing

Varied Experience
Market Researcher (Current Employee) - Blackburn - 25 October 2017
I can only comment on my experience as a canvasser within my own branch, other branches will most likely differ greatly.
In this role you are expected to follow installation teams around your branches area and speak to the neighbors in the local area about potentially getting a quote for their windows/doors to be upgraded also. You do not sell the windows, just book appointments.
The training you receive for this role is basically a day or two speaking about the products and how to pitch them, then a few weeks with a mentor, who will take you out with them and show you in great detail how the job works, you will know if this job is for you after about a week with your mentor. The job itself can either be a struggle or very rewarding, depending on how you perform. The money is there, you just need to find it, if you cant, this isn't the job for you.
The mentor I worked with was very encouraging, patient and attentive and was a great help, the manager was more of the same, always congratulating us when we did a good job.
Travel is fully provided, you are picked up by your driver and dropped off on your area and then back home at the end of the day. Food in the morning is also provided, but you are expected to provide or buy your own as the day goes on.
The commission is great, but no basic means you have to do well to earn money and during training you could be at half minimum wage if anything at all
If you are a driver, you will most likely get a company car
Pros
free travel, excellent management and training
Cons
no basic, long distance walking, no financial security

It's good, but could be better
Market Researcher/TeleSales (Current Employee) - Ellesmere Port - 8 January 2017
I really like the job but there is no guarantee of income which can be a pain, you can get a lot of money if you are good at it but it requires a lot of work and determination, I personally don't have much time to be effective at it but its definitely something I am going to stick with and make it full time when I'm better at telecanvassing.
Pros
choose your own hours, twice a week the company buys lunch for its workers
Cons
no guaranteed income

Market research/Sales
Market Researcher (Former Employee) - Swindon - 23 August 2016
As part of this role, I was responsible for finding and booking new customers. I was able to use my initiative in offering discounts, as well as my excellent communication skills to secure many new sales. I took a particular interest in learning about the business model and marketing strategies which make this company successful.
Pros
very good commission
Cons
none

Fun and energetic workplace
Market Research (Current Employee) - luton - 20 April 2016
Knocking at customers doors taking details to talk about possible home improvements which may be needed in the future, also leaving them with a quote which is valid for 12 months. While working at Safestyle UK I have been working as a part of a team alongside 4 others while we're out, the hardest part of the job is the long walking regardless of the weather conditions.
The most enjoyable part of working with Safestyle UK is travelling to different cities, towns and interacting with lots of different people on a day to day basis, which is what I like most of all.
The management team are very positive, helpful and always willing to help those who need it.
Pros
Free Cafe on thursdays
Cons
Long Hours

Fun working environment and productive
Market Researcher - Door to Door Canvassing (Former Employee) - Birmingham, ENG - 22 April 2015
A typical day would consist of hours from 10am till 6pm. Arrivng in the office for around 10.30 am and from there learning our pitches and handling new objections. From 11-12 the team would leave to go to a specific location, from here go door to door and start to get the bookings. During this period our boss would phone us and try to persuade and motivate us to get additional bookings depending upon how we was doing.
Pros
Free lunches on specific days and nice working environment
Cons
Lots of rejection and low wages

Hard working but very upbeat and fun place to work
Market Researcher (Former Employee) - Preston - 10 December 2013
A typical day at work was both fun but very hard at the same time, walking around a lot and knocking on peoples doors only to get turned down was very hard and sometimes it would knock down your confidence. I learned a lot whilst working at SafeStyle, i used to think that having a full time job would just be a stroll in the park but it is most certainly the opposite. My co-workers were very helpful to me, i learned a lot off them and they were always polite. The hardest part of the job was actually getting the people to sign up for a quote, not many people where interested in having new windows so it was very hard. The most enjoyable part of the job was meeting new people, experiencing full time work and making new friends.
Pros
Free lunches, all the staff were very friendly
Cons
commission, not much pay

A good starting point for my chosen career in sales
Market Researcher (Current Employee) - Exeter, ENG - 8 November 2013
I go to different areas across the south west canvassing at home owners properties. In my time at Safestyle I have learnt at the sharp end of sales and how to approach a customer in their own territory, when the client may of never even considered buying my company's product. I have also developed skills in;
- Legal and ethical responsibilities including consumer protection regulations.
- Customer service standards, and dealing with customers queries and complaints.
I believe the company is managed very well and my colleagues are great peers to work with. The most challenging aspect of my job would have to be the fact that I am out doors all day in all weather conditions. The fact my job has no set place of work can also be daunting as from one day to the next I don't know were I am going to be based. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Safestyle as I meet new customers everyday. The time I have spent with my team members has been a pleasure and enabled me to create my skill base.
Pros
supportive and friendly colleagues
Cons
long hours and weather dependant

market researcher (Current Employee) - reading - 1 May 2013
since being there i think ive picked up a bit off confidence with talking to people, i find it enjoyable how no door is the same every day brings you different things. though i do think the hardest part is people not wanting to hear you out.

Mis-sold but worth it if you can do it
Market Researcher (Former Employee) - Blackburn - 1 August 2012
The job is very badly mis-sold after you get past the sales pitch of an interview, promised big money and easy money too you are sent out with experienced employee's who are used to this and are more realisitic and down to earth. The job itself isn't bad to be honest, hours are good, the commission isn't too bad either. But before you take a market research job with them don't listen to what they say in the 'interview' you won't make money straight away but if you work at it, keep going there is money to be made. But more in the £100-250 bracket rather than the £400-600 they sell in the interview. Good luck. :-)
Pros
good hours
Cons
mis-sold
