Fun workplace

Indeed featured review

Vared work but systems need updating and are very slow. Great holidays but can be a little expensive for some people. Customers are usually very nice.

Great for a Cruise Ship Engineers

The watch-keeping patterns are different compared to the typical 4 on 8 off watches. In a day you will do a 5 hour watch and a 3 hour watch and its designed so you have more rest hours in bulk. The senior engineers are amazing and really focus on the junior officers career and skill development, Salary is good, you can chose to do 2 months on/off or 3 months on/6 weeks off,

Pros

Good crew, good career development, good salary

Cons

Food is awful

Fun, hard work best work family

A great job but long hours and very hard work. Brilliant people to work for, great place if you thrive on stress. Can be a bit overwhelming, stressful when things go wrong, but they keep everyone wanting to work hard and together

Very nice

Good experience at this company. Has good benefits especially for older workers. Company cares about employees. Management very supportive and professional.

Mean and unsupportive work culture

The worst company I have ever worked for. Mean and distrustful, poor managers, useless training. They made us buy the drinks for customers during journey breaks which had to be claimed back in a ridiculously complicated expenses system. The control room was awful, there was no help from anyone if something went wrong. The vehicles were tracked and if you went over the speed limit even for a moment you would get a telling off from a pathetic so called supervisor. Constant fear of making a mistake. Awful experience and I'm glad to be made redundant by this tawdry and poorly run outfit.

Pros

Free uniforms! Yes, that's the only benefit of working for this second rate outfit.

Cons

Too many to list, awful company to work for.

Relaxed and Friendly

Overall a good place to work. Worked in the overseas department abroad. Always someone in the UK head office to assist. A lot of updates and management structure changes to keep up with.

Pros

Discounted food, bonuses, free uniform.

Excellent Employer

They really care about employee well being. They put a lot of effort into training staff and the company benefits are some of the best I have experienced.

Saga take care of you

Great discount benefits on holiday products. Very fair maternity pay. Great chances of career progression for those who want it - many different roles in the company.

Saga holidays

Saga is a company you can work for that feels like a second family. They are very understanding and very good employer. They are a local company who has offices within Kent

Poor

Great location to work. No job security. Poor pay. High stress, low reward. Not appreciated for continuously going the extra mile. Poor travel benefits

Avoid

Don’t waste your time. They hire n fire more staff then anywhere I know. It’s all about management lining there pockets. They use Experian to conduct background checks and do not leave you alone. Company is losing value day by day. Be aware stay clear.

Not an enjoyable place to work.

At first, working for saga was great. The people, the work and the benefits was amazing. But slowly the management had more stress put on them and less time to care. There was less incentive to work hard for and more complaints from customers and staff.

Terrible place to work

I worked here in holidays for 2 years and had to leave due to terrible mental health. Initially the job was actually fun, there were constantly incentives and activity days which made it feel less like a job and actually enjoyable. But towards the end so many staff had left, there is so much pressure on the existing staff. The company constantly employees inexperienced people who don’t care about the customers and just want an easy job so the staff who do actually care end up just constantly fixing the mistakes of everyone else. All of this whilst being shouted at to take more calls, which is hard to do when you need to fix someone’s holiday that someone else has missed up. The only people who progress in this company are the ones who are friends with the managers, if you’re not then you have no hope. Working here is like being in the school playground at secondary school - someone is always talking about what happened at the pub between staff or work events. The pay is terrible, you start at the bottom on 14/15 grand a year and from there it can take up to 3 years to earn the maximums which is only about £18 grand a year, commission targets are nearly impossible.

Pros

If you’re friends with the managers you get away with anything

Cons

Long hours, shifts constantly changing, never any holiday left to book, so much pressure on staff, managers don’t care

Quiet and pleasant

99% of the guests are over 60, which makes the ship a very quiet place to work. Guests are nice, crew are great . Not a great salary, but if you are a beginner and want to gain experience and travel, is amazing.

Pros

Great staff, great food

Cons

Low salary

Work life

Answering/calling customers, emailing customers, advsing product info on holiday products, hardest part of the job is not having the resources we need to complete a task efficiently.

Good all round employer

Lots of good benefits while working for this employer including staff concessions, private medical insurance and an on site nursery and holiday and after school club.

I do not feel comfortable leaving a review

I do not feel comfortable leaving a review. It was quite a while ago that I worked for this company and so I think it is unfair that I am being asked of what I think of them company.

Productive and lots of scope for learning new technonolies

I am very satisfied working with SAGA. We have used so many new technolies for automation of the systems. Managers and team member are very cooperative

Tourist Representative

extremely diverse and active job that kept me interacting with different profiles of people who were all in the Hospitality/Tourism industry - from the wait staff, and tour operators to entertainment staff and hotel managers, to doctors and airport personnel when handling guests' issues.
