Sainsbury’s Employee Review

Fast paced

I worked night shifts 4 days a week. The staff are amazing, managers are great, although one is a little quiet and seems pressured. Pay is excellent. Very fast paced and must keep to time limits otherwise managers will have a word. There's a lot to do, keeps you busy, always great food in staff room and a nice sofa and tv area to relax on your break. Need to be somewhat strong to lift certain stock. Should have ocd when comes to tidying (dressing) shelves. Great place to work and regret leaving

Bad place to work

First month or so there everything seemed fine and then after you’re there for a bit the management goes downhill and you don’t feel supported much anymore.

Stressful 10 hour nigh shifts. Management push you consistently.

Worked here for 3 months on night shift. They are happy for day shift to do nothing and expect you to pick up the slack on top of night delivery's which are huge. Understaffed and the management push you and don't leave you alone to get on with it. The reason for this is they want to hit targets to earn bonuses for themselves, while colleagues get nothing for it. Why would I break my back for someone else's financial benefit? Can't even talk to anyone without managers following you around pestering you. Workloads are ridiculous and insist on 10 hour shifts which are gruelling. Good luck booking holidays as they always get declined. Still haven't received my P45 and it's been 5 weeks since I left so I'm being emergency taxed. Now work at a competitor and it's a far more relaxed environment and days support nights so less pressure. Avoid this place if you want to do nights. If your after day shifts you won't be expected to do any work so knock yourself out!
