Sainsbury’s Employee Review
This place is absolutely insane.
Engineer (Former Employee) - Nottingham, Nottinghamshire - 24 September 2023
This review is for "Sainsburys Tech" Typical day at work: Getting verbally abused in a one-to-one Teams call with my manager. What I believe you learned: Nothing of value. Management: Mostly clueless. They love using buzzwords that they parrot back and forth to each other. Workplace culture: Strictly corporate. A few slimy characters trying to slither their way up the management chain. The hardest part of the job: Logging in on a morning. The most enjoyable part of the job: Logging out on an evening.
Pros
Work from home
Cons
Bullsh*tters massively outnumber non-bullsh*tters

Spoiled by unproffessional management
Engineer (Current Employee) - Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire - 25 August 2023
Culture is weird. A combination of kids fresh from uni trying hard to look like an adult and Tata contractors trying hard to look competent. Ignore the social media blitz, this isn't a tech company.
Pros
Store card
Cons
People disappear and nobody says a word

Toxic Management Ninja Turtles
Engineer (Current Employee) - London, Greater London - 10 August 2023
Culture is very political and hierarchical. You have to be extremely careful who you talk to and what you talk about. Lots of gaslighting, manipulation and passive-aggressive behaviour from management. Store work is supposed to be voluntary but line managers have metrics to hit and they will come after you if you don't do it. There's also an "anonymous" employee survey that clearly isn't anonymous. The work gets boring very quickly.
Pros
Toilets are clean.
Cons
Forced store work.

Goox place to work in my experience.
CTM (Current Employee) - Nottingham, Nottinghamshire - 19 October 2023
Sainsbury's is a good company to work for in my experience. Work/ life balance is not the best, but that will come with any position in retail. I find that the company does put it's values into practice in valuing staff welfare and I do enjoy working for Sainsbury’s.
