Care Assistant in Scotland

Residents are cared for with respect and dignity. Unfortunately the same can't be said for the way that management treat staff
Very stressful work environment, more and more responsibilities put onto staff without additional support or an increase in staffing levels being put in place. Staff are not all treated equally despite management repeatedly stressing that they are. The work culture creates ill feeling and animosity amongst staff, especially when some staff with family commitments are supported and accommodated with shift changes whilst others are not. Nepotism and favouritism are rampant in the workplace. Issues with Lazy, unenthusiastic and incompetent staff are not addressed. Hardworking, efficient and reliable staff are not supported by management . They are overworked and anxiety levels are extremely high. There is a very large turnover of staff. Sanctuary Care are unable or unwilling to support compitent staff who feel that they have no other option but to resign and look elsewhere for job opportunities.

Looked for another job after my 1st day!
Don’t recommend this company at all. No care from staff member with regards to new starters and very rude don’t think anyone made any effort and was glad to leave quickly!

Poor management
Lack of professionalism from management, not run to high standards, clicky groups, favouritism from management. Dont bother unless your willing to brown nose to get somewhere. Sanctuary care needs to think about a change of management. The home needs to go back to basics and recruit new staff. Some Staff on phones constantly, facetiming family or doing tik toks in the corridor. Rather than being concerned about patient care. Prescidence put on paper work rather than making sure all patients are looked after. Some residents get missed.

Best place I did my work experience
I absolutely adored doing my work experience here. I really enjoyed spending time with the residents and just having a general chit chat with them. The work environment is something I loved. It was homely and you could tell the residents were happy there. Would love to come back and visit after covid has gone!
