For this company, you will need to be able to work in a very fast-paced, stressful environment but you must remain calm. Everyone is helpful and friendly to assist you.
Pros
There's always something to do, never bored.
Cons
Long hours, often have to work past hours and not always paid overtime
Stressful place to work with no training route provided. Often left doing things you’ve not been trained on & when things go wrong it’s all your fault
Very much an old boys' club, with no real scope for progression. Team leaders have no real training in managing people and not enough support is given to staff. Any issues are swept under the rug and not dealt with. Not a very nice atmosphere.
Just been made redundant. I was working fine until new MD decide to reshuffle everything and had to let people go, me being one of them. Thanks new MD, hope you can ruin more lives with two faced personality. Oh and did I mention favouritism. If the MD tells you to jump, you say how high.
Thanks for the opportunity but learn to treat your employees better like for example... give them a chance.
Pros
Free breakfast, staff members are nice
Cons
New MD is absolute nightmare, good luck
A relatively decent and informal place to work, but the more you do the more is expected of you with no gratitude or reward.
Depending on your role and your nature, things can get highly stressful with no support until breaking point.
So the best staff are overworked and under appreciated (in every sense) while so many 'workers' do as little as possible, and/or brown-nose the right people in attempts at advancement.
There are more people working on the analytics of everything going on, to produce information on how to reduce costs etc.. than there are people actually being productive.
Such is the modern day workplace perhaps. But a top tip?:
Scrap the layers of unnecessary middle management crunching figures and doing little else, and redistribute the money saved to help the productive and hardworking staff to feel like they're valued!
Unattainable goals are filtered down throughout management levels, all the while in the knowledge that they are such.., but nobody seems to care. Everyone is leaned on to improve key performance figures so that graphs can be generated, and boxes can be ticked.
The company has transformed into now being entirely about cost and corner cutting, for the financial benefit of it's directors, with an abysmally low level of appreciation for it's staff that at the end of the day keep the place going. Huge staff turnover will steadily increase and the company will spiral down those inevitable tubes. Shame.
Pros
Generally nice staff
Cons
Really poor appreciation of staff and a soulless company
Typical day 9 till 5. Manchester Office in out of city business park. Not much involvement with Management locally. Offices a little drab and and slightly tatty. The most enjoyable part was travel to foreign offices.
Pros
Travel
Cons
Out of the way offices nothing to do during lunch hour.
Not a very nice place to work, management are unprofessional and unorganised, wages are terrible and promotions only given to people who are "well liked" by management (often without an interview process taking place).
Job itself is OK, but very demanding and often required to work overtime and not much of a home/work life balance. Wages are also terrible.
Perks such as sick pay, maternity, paternity, parental leave don't exist. The company don't value their employees.
Saying that, the staff are lovely and it's a friendly environment to work.
Pros
Sometimes you get free pizza, staff are lovely
Cons
Bad management, low wages, face fits culture
