Friendly but can be stressful at times
Scl is a good place to work, it can be rewarding to help the children you work with. It is a very friendly place to work with, you get to work in a team. Management you hardly hear from them and some stuff never gets done, can be a lot of staff shortages at times which can be stressful.

Staff treated like dirt
Never have I worked somewhere as bad as this! My colleagues and I have been treated like mud since we started here. The management team would choose to have a Safeguarding risk of 1:15 ratio for an After School Care Club rather than go out and help at site themselves. They have been dangling the carrot of a payrise for 2 years now and keep pushing it back. This is truly a sinking ship that will not be around for much longer. Parents hate SCL, Schools hate SCL and to be honest, I think all of the coaches hate SCL.

Great and Fun Workplace
I worked for SCL Kids for 3 years, leaving this summer. The business are driven to succeed and improve - it is great to see management with the desire to improve the quality of care all staff provide for the children. I worked at a breakfast club and after school club with a lunchtime club on some days - I also helped with PE lessons on occasion when required. Managers do struggle for time sometimes and it would have been nice to see them more at sites but this did get better towards the end of my time. The culture is positive and has been great to see staff progressing such as one of my apprentices becoming a supervisor at another local site. During my time, my work was recognised and I was able to attend one of SCL's Excellence Award ceremonies which was great fun! I struggled with covering at short notice due to other staff sickness but having worked with other companies in the sector, this seems to be a common thing. I would say the people at the business are the best part of the job, everyone is supportive of each other, sharing great ideas and in my opinion, so a great place to work.

Good place to develop
The company is progressing well and people across the board work hard to make the work life balance better. Management are approachable and honest. Delivery staff have are great with children and the future of SCL is very positive. If you are career driven you will do very well here.

Don't join scl!
This place is so stressful that myself and at least 10 other coaches are taking anti-depressants to try and help with how bad this place is. There are so many people leaving that they cannot plug the gaps quick enough and they are losing staff all the time. The managers are all way out of their depth and as soon as something goes wrong they blame the coaches or make something up to cover themselves. Its the most unprofessional company I have ever seen. I have walked in on the managers throwing stuff at eachother in the warehouse whilst they are supposed to be working and supporting staff.
