Ideal for some but not for everyone
Events Steward (Former Employee) - Glasgow - 7 January 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedGood place to work if you don't need a definite number of hrs per week although shifts are usually available for those who turn up for shifts/on time. You don't have to take all the shifts offered which is great if you need flexibility. It can be boring sometimes but it is what it is. Easy work, easy money and you'll meet lots of new people. Enjoyed working there.
Pros
Flexibility of shifts on offer
Cons
You'll discover the cons along the way and learn how to avoid them!!

Poor Management
Security officer (Current Employee) - Glasgow, Glasgow - 19 January 2023
This company has poor management and a culture of favoritism. Security guards are not valued and often given short notice for shift changes, even receiving calls as early as 6AM for cover shifts. If you don’t accept the last-minute requests then you will not be given any more shifts. Additionally, the company operates on a 0-hour contract, showing a lack of commitment to their employees. This is not a positive working environment. Overall, it seems that management doesn't care about the well-being and rights of their employees, and only uses them as a means to an end, without any consideration for their personal lives and schedules.
Pros
Long hours
Cons
Cover or ordinary shifts, No permanent shifts.

Selfridges birmingham..Horrible place to work
Security Officer (Former Employee) - Birmingham, West Midlands - 9 January 2023
The management is the most twisted you’ll ever come across. Theirs a reason why they always advertise jobs here . The turn over in this place is ridiculous an it’s because of the management

Not the best place
Security Guard (Former Employee) - Glasgow, Glasgow - 26 November 2022
Management are childish and petty, if you can get a good one then you'll be good but from what I've seen all they do is pass on the work to someone else and ignore any attempt at contact

No work life balance
Security Supervisor (Former Employee) - Birmingham - 2 November 2022
Be expected to work 60 plus hours a week, training within the allocated site virtually non existent, expect to not be able to use own initiative or question anything. Job very mundane and robotic, with very little reward. Get told when to have a break, have to ask to use toilet like at school.
Pros
Supportive ops manager
Cons
Long hours, very little reward and breaks

Jobs at SecuriGroup Ltd
I've seen behind the curtain
Various Positions (Former Employee) - Various - 3 September 2022
I've been with them a long time (through several departments and roles) and there is a lot happening in the company, but the company cuts its nose off to spite it's face. Generally about SG: Doesn't guarantee hours for sites that require specific training. Then the client is angry because they get untrained staff or substandard subcontractors (they wouldn't need subcontractors if they guaranteed hours, even part time contract hours) Managers don't actually hear the staff, and can be really difficult to deal with. Ignoring holiday requests, pestering guards on days off asking them to work, being generally difficult to reach with concerns. (There are some exceptions, but a good manager shouldn't be the rare case) Managers tend to burn out really quickly, it's not an easy job and quite stressful, especially for the good ones. When they leave it takes a while before the position is filled and a lot of staff are left in limbo, and struggle to get their concerns heard, requests made, etc. The company has a large foreign workforce and there can be langauge barriers that come with that, the company can be very unsympathetic when dealing with workers who struggle with English or who are non-native speakers. They are big on training and make everyone do a lot of internal online modules but don't bother to assist those still learning english. A lot of people epecially lower level employees feel they are just a bum in a seat/ a number. Those lower level employees you have direct contact with amazing people and the reason people last as long within the company. There are plenty -

It's a job
Front of House (Current Employee) - Edinburgh, City of Edinburgh - 1 August 2022
If you have a great team to work with, then it makes for a pretty good shift. Management are a bit of a hit and a miss. Very little communication from them. Been with the company almost a year, still do not have a uniform and I know I will not be reimbursed for the one I bought myself.. All in all it's an okay job, the hours are pretty good and the wage is reasonable. Really just depends who you end up working with.

Make sure not to have a serious medical emergency whilst working for them
Security Guard (Former Employee) - Glasgow, Glasgow - 26 July 2022
Or you'll be told to stop coming to work and put on disciplinary without even having a chance to explain that you were hospitalised. Management do not care about you at all and they do not back their staff up when clients express uncertainty.

Productive and challenging
Security Officer (Current Employee) - Coventry - 27 May 2022
This company is the best that i have worked for. They care about you as a person and do not treat you as a number like other companies. I have been with them for over 2 years now and ive had no problems what so ever. They pay on time, holiday pays ect. They could slightly improve in there salary side of things especially for night shifts. Overall perfect company to work for without any hassle.
Pros
Excellent management, pay on time
Cons
Salary
