Very interesting question.
When I had a chat with HR over the phone, I had that strange feeling that I had the job already even before meeting my future manager. But then, i felt that I was treated unfairly during my probation period by my manager, HR and the head of Employees Relations... I am now jobless as a result.

I still don't know why this happened to me (I never found myself in such situation and never heard anybody around me that I got through what I have been through in there).

For Christmas temporary role personally I had to go through an online application answering questions then a video interview where you answer questions on this app they tell you to download and then I went through a group interview
