Selfridges is an excellent company to work for. Everyone gets along with eachother and works as a team. We have a lot of benefits such as staff discount, long breaks and also company parties for christmas. All the managers are lovely and very understanding. Even during the COVID-19 situation we have been furloughed and selfridges has topped up the remaining 20% of our wage.
Very friendly environment
Working as a customer service advisor, money isnt great but the hours are really good and the people are friendly, dress code is relaxed i hope my position goes permanent lots of overtime available to bump your money upTraining is good lots of practical exercises to do while learning a lot of information overload but its good.
A busy day is usually jam packed with things to do but be wary that when it's quiet you'll be standing around for hours being bored. Pay is very fair for the job that you're doing and the benefits are excellent. If you're lucky you'll have a good team to work alongside with but management don't really show much empathy. They do praise you if you do well, though. Can be a bit overwhelming at times especially during peak periods but what retail job isn't.
Great staff discount
Great, fun place to work. Its a fast pace environment and can some times get stressful during peak periods. Working in the perfumery hall is the busiest area of the store so got to meet lots of interesting clients, the hours are long as store closes 10pm

fun place to work with no pressure if you work for the own bought team: good salary and commission scheme; opportunity to progress if you are patience, resilient and a can do attitude; management could be better; process and procedures are inconsistent and unclear;
managers don't care about work/life balance and expect you to put the company above all else, even if you're a part time worker. can't be sick more than twice within 3 months or you hit an absence trigger which can lead to you being punished or fired. great people to work with but it is still very competitive due to the commission scheme, people will try and steal your sales for their own gain. great benefits and incentives such as the 35% discount which goes down to 50% on most brands on certain days such as black Friday. good place to work if you have no other commitments such as school or a social life. long hours with nowhere to sit too..

it is great to have on your CV But, to be able to balance work and life is hard. Salary increases are rare alongside promotions making switching departments common. it is naturally competitive so Managerial support is not consistent: some are attentive, some are difficult some are less involved.
discount, meet a lot of people
There is no typical day at work as every day is different and unexpected, which is why the job is so great. During my time here i learnt so much, having worked both on confectionery, and also on click and collect. both areas were very different meaning i learnt a great deal. I have no complaints whatsoever about the management. They are always around whenever you need help, they are kind and appreciative of their staff and they reward and recognise you for your hard work. In terms of the hardest part of the job, i don't really think there was anything that was all that hard about working in Selfridges. With regards to the most enjoyable part, i would say working in such a large department store, that never ceases to amaze you and also the people i worked alongside during my time with the company as they were highly contributory to my amazing experience.

Selfridges is the great company that offer good holiday days, great staff discount, good values of the company that cares goble environment, people and employees. Definitely open for people who are interested in fashion and respect employees. However department management is very dependent on the manager....
