Indeed featured review

Pretty mundane, lots of issues regarding the management side and the thought process behind what they ask employees to do seems a bit odd. Work hard for peanuts, and the job satisfaction is a bit like council work where you get the cheapest materials and least amount of time to make a job look a million buck.

Pros

None maybe pension pot

Cons

Awfull management

Good rate of pay

Ok place to work, overtime available….If your face fits.Management out of touch with what’s happening on shop floor. The interaction with public make the job worthwhile.

Poor Management

Appalling! Very unprofessional staff and Manager. I believe Serco should have cameras with sound! I am sure half of the staff would be sacked! Home office should have undercover staff in every court and see what really takes place!

Terrible

Horrible company, money driven no staff care. If they want someone out it happens. Totally money driven and have to be friends with the right people to get anywhere.

Great colleagues, poor management

Staff are amazing like one big family supporting each other. Management on the other hand needs improving, but that might change after the new takeover

Terrible place to place

At the start I enjoyed my role but then u get to know the know the management who are just horrible to their staff , they are all for themselves and the work load the pile onto you is a total different level . If you are prepared to go home totally exhausted and stressed then this job is for you. The part of the job was getting to know the patients . It's the same routine day in and of u don't get a good worker on days off then your left with their workload also . I would never go back no matter how much money they paid me .

Pros

The patient's

Cons

Horrible management, long hours, massive amount of work load which isn't worth the pay

Terrible place to work

Poor pay compared to other companies in the industry and on top of that they fail to treat their employees adequately. I'd strongly recommend anyone looking for a company to work for long term to look else where.

None

Cons

Terrible Management

Hospital as a workplace it's not an easyasy thing. But management and supporting(ambasadors) staff are disaster

*typical day at work Sick people , yelling on you, all day long. Walls only , seeing people's dying, depressing *management I would stay in this place , as I really wanted do it serious (my job) but there was no communication and cooperation.Because of management and ambasadors ;( *workplace culture Poor. Same as management *the hardest part of the jobSeeing people's dying *the most enjoyable part of the jobWhen you know that it means what you do , and your management ruins everything . Thank you very nice :)

Cons

Varius hours, long hours, unpaid breaks

Fair employers it a lot of pay rises

Relaxed work environment. Some opportunities to move up the ladder. Not very good at pay rises but good opportunities for extra hours if you want to earn more cash

Challenging but rewarding.

What is the best part of working at the company?Good place to work, great team, plenty of opportunities to progressWhat is the most stressful part about working at the company?Dealing with the prisoners issues and behaviour. But your training and background definitely helps. What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Work environment can be tough at times but that's life as a prison officer. The team you work with is there to help.

Easy and relaxed

Shifts were simple and training was good, bit of a mess with communications the higher you went but all in all good colleges and manager made the role tolerable

Going downhill

Used to be a great job. Senior leadership bringing moral down with poor decisions affecting people across grades. Serco is a service company, so the prime target is the bottom line. Not the employees.

Toxic environment

Not a nice company to work for, there's lots of discrimination and favourism, management is very poor, not supportive, wages are very poor, don't bother working for this company it's a very toxic environment.

Poor!

Everything is done back to front. You do your 6 weeks training this training felt like i was going into the military very strict, no tattoos on show or piercings( piercings have to be taken out) no jewellery and strict dress code. Once you have completed the training and passed everything you will be placed into your chosen work place where you wont be able to actually do anything until you have passed the vetting and dbs stage which can take up to 7 months i was told by multiple people. I literally spent 3 months sitting in the staff room making teas and coffees and food for the prisoners as did all the other people that i done my course with. Just to be told i have failed the vetting checks due to not paying a train fine in 2015 therefore loosing my job. which obviously i totally forgot about being soo long ago. So yeah complete waste of months and months. Wages aren't that great either well behind what other company's are paying.

Worst job environment ever experienced

Unempathetic sheltered individuals at the kirkleatham branch I worked, whilst dealing with a grievance in the family they decided to let me go as i had to step outside one day to have a cry and this was deemed "unprofessional" to have emotions. Also one of the staff mentioned they used to work at greggs so I wore my hoody in one day from primark a greggs branded one to try have a bit of banter as i'd just started, and this was also deemed unprofessional. God forbid to try have a laugh and fit in when you start a new job :)Also the main software Key2 which was used, which was dated and slow, wasn't on my laptop when i started so had to waste numerous days to IT which felt could have been fixed and rectified before I started.Pay and hours average for generic admin work, people i spoke to over phone and on teams seemed friendly.

Pros

Money and hours ok

Cons

The staff, laptop wasn't set up when started wasted 4 days trying to get sorted with IT
