Management are overpaid, untrained and too far removed from day to day realities. Many of which act as pure facilitators. Too many slackers being carried by the hard workers who are often made to feel like outsiders as they don't fit the clique of yes men and prefer to say it as it is. Quarterly Performance Reviews for which your scores are decided in a previous management meeting so you have no influence on the outcome. If you nod, smile and fit in with the yes men you'll score highly and go far. If you hold people to account and query things which are wrong you'll be made to leave.

Constant workload and although they say it is not sales based you are scrutinised often if you aren’t hitting specifics stats. Management here are very poor however colleagues are extremely lovely. If you have mental health issues I wouldn’t bother working here as they do not give a cr*p at all. Company pretends to be so big on mental health and being there for each other however do not have the appropriate tools at all to help those who are suffering.

If you have an opinion keep it to yourself because you will be victimised for expressing yourself. There are some brilliant people work here and some bad who usually get promoted. Expect to have your work base changed regularly with no regard to personal circumstances or commuting distances. The sharesave, pension and lifestyle options are good benefits if you can afford them, and pay is decent but never take it for granted I had my pay slashed twice in my career there. They do have pay protection for 2 years which is good but in my case i still finished with a massive drop.In conclusion if your face fits fine if not they will make life difficult

Things might have changed since I left, but the office environment was enjoyable and there was always someone to help you, even with tough queries. The work was varied and there were opportunities to learn new skills.
Variety in tasks
If your working via agency you get treated like dirt. Good if you work directly. Alot of the temp workers feel this way, management treat staff very differently as they only care about the well-being of permenant staff.

Severn Trent is a good company to work for the good progression. I found they try to look after their staff, the pay was competitive and they have good company benefits. The role of working on the phones is extremely emotionally draining. Customers can be abusive and angry. It can be a pressured/stressful environment to constantly reach stat targets. Extreme difficulty getting time off, especially over er Christmas
A great place to work simply because of the great people. Management can be a little tunnel vision however the camaraderie and support from your colleagues is what pulls you though. The overall and external presentation of the companies aims are laudable . Unfortunately that does not often touch the daily reality. That said the intentions are good. Far far from the worst place to work
Thee training is not sufficient to prepare you for when you actually go on the phones, so you have to learn on the job. You spend long hours on the phone and this can be mentally draining. And the company is obsessed with stats and performance figures rather than actually delivering a service to the customer. Very short breaks, a lot of the calls are abusive and complex and you get little help. Also, they have a customer feedback system and if a caller gives you a 5 out 10 or so then you are disciplined, even if the customer is unhappy about call queues or something else beyond your control. I found the company to be unnecessarily strict about everything.

Great company to work for, chances for progression. The company has a lot of sites so travel between those is a part of most roles. This is an operational business but there are a lot of departments outside of this that are really interesting.
Completely different to where I was before, people care about you and keep in touch, they do everything they can to help eachother, which I've never encountered where I've worked previously, even the managers too

COSC! full of snakey management that will lie and cheat to get you sacked! Absolutely disgusting! You are paid nowhere near enough for the extra work you have to do on top of your role. Senior management is so clicky if they don't like you, you are a target! You are not cared about! Your just a number! They do not care about mental health! They have had staff members attempt suicide and couldn't care! AVOID AT ALL COSTS
