Productive and Nice
Support Worker (Current Employee) - Horsham - 19 October 2023
There’s always so much to learn at work. The manager is very helpful and gives room for self expansion. Between co- workers we team up as family and support each other.

Ok place to work
Health Care Assistant (Current Employee) - Glasgow, Glasgow - 1 October 2023
Staff are helpful and the hours are good managers will support you if you have any family issues. Great team to work with and the money is good too. The only bad thing I would say is you don’t get extra money for doing nightshift just the same rate as dayshift

Poorly managed
Care Assistant (Former Employee) - Corby, Northamptonshire - 27 September 2023
Absolutely zero support from management regarding not being able to meet service user needs. Pay process was changed during my time there and we were pressured into taking loans from the company to ensure we would have enough money for the month - this amount was made public for all other staff to see however head office promptly dealt with this once aware. Took holiday pay from me twice once I had left and couldn’t not get anyone to help me with this so lost out on that

Okay workplace.
Support Worker (Former Employee) - Poole, Dorset - 21 September 2023
Expected to work extremely long hours with no benefits. Management do not provide support, felt very overworked and no flexibility. Working with the team helps get you through it.

Well-Managed and Understanding
Bank Support Worker (Former Employee) - Raunds, Northamptonshire - 9 July 2023
The team at Ashfield House are very supportive and a vast majority of the residents at the home were lovely. A typical day consisted of helping residents get ready for breakfast, proving breakfast, help them with lunch, providing two rounds of tea, logging reports about residents and providing additional support needs. The job didn't work out for me personally, through no fault of anyone there, but management were easy to talk to and understanding of the situation.

Family clique in management
Support Worker (Current Employee) - West Sussex - 17 June 2023
Mix of residents has changed since Covid, residential is no longer elderly frail who need some assistance to a group of residents that require a higher degree of help. Level of staffing does not meet the everyday requirements of the residents. Staff are anxious about not meeting expectations. Most of the supervisory team are related to each other, opinions are very biased.
Pros
Love the residents and most of my co-workers.
Cons
Work day very long and busy, 30 minute break does not sufffice, new record keeping method very tedious, There is very little interest in the emotional well being of employees, Staff are reprimanded in earshot of the residents.

Management only told you what you wanted to hear. Always empty promises. Expected to rush through the day not giving proper care to residents other staff can’t be trusted

A good job absolutely ruined by managing
Kitchen Assistant (Former Employee) - Ystradgynlais - 7 May 2023
I really enjoyed working in the kitchen as kitchen assistant/bank cook but it was completely ruined by the manager, they should look to why so many people have left in the time of the current manager , I may sound bitter but I have reason to. The staff were great to work with and the home itself is a lovely little home and the residents are lovely but unfortunately the experience was completely ruined by the manager and the company really needs to look into why they have had a large turnover of staff since the current manager has been there
Pros
Great little home with great staff
Cons
Bad management

Productive workplace
Team Leader (Current Employee) - West Sussex - 21 April 2023
Team leaders are expected to: Write care plans from scratch Pre-assess and assess residents Use up to 3 different care softwares Count hundreds of meds Attend meetings Take all the responsibility possible for a barely "living wage"

Glad that's over
Staff (Former Employee) - Wales - 12 April 2023
Some great staff but that's about it. Would not recommend. Too much to do, working short on lots of shifts. Complexity of patients does not match up with skills of care staff, but bums on beds eh?

Horrendous
Staff (Former Employee) - Powys - 1 April 2023
It’s not a place I would advice my nearest and dearest to work. It will destroy you. My personal experience in the home where I worked was horrible, I’m sure some of the other homes are better but I reserve judgement. Fortunately I have a good family and supportive group of friends who all persuaded me to leave and go and enjoy life.
Pros
The residents and their families
Cons
Horrendous levels of stress.

Nice place but not enough staff
Team Leader (Former Employee) - Shoreham by Sea, West Sussex - 27 March 2023
Nice environment bright and airy, but need more staff. Long shifts with 30 minute unpaid break. Administering medication, reviewing care plans, learnt a lot with Shaw, but workload stressful.
