Staff Nurse Band 5 in Sheffield, South Yorkshire
Poor people management
The ward was a pleasant but stressful place to work. The main problem is the lack of main management in the appreciation of staff . If a staff member is experiencing any difficulties senior staff did not take the time to discuss the problem and try to come up with a solution. They were happy instead to accept a resignation and lose a member of staff rather than offer carers leave . This just doesn’t make sense when they are supposed to be wanting more nurses?!!
IT Service Desk Analyst in Sheffield, South Yorkshire
Would never work/ recommend on Service Desk or in the IT Dept again at STH
Managers are nasty to staff. Work life balance only apply to people with kids. I was treated like dirt by two team leaders who were friends. No surprise that friends get their own into the grade 5 jobs when they have very poor management skills. No support from staff to do my IT Service Desk job. Information withheld by Team leader and his mates. Really nasty work environment . Would never recommend. Seriously, go work elsewhere, the management do nothing about the atmosphere even though they know what its like. Really glad I left
Domestic Assistant in Sheffield, South Yorkshire
Always busy and also learning new things on the go as well and also helping others when they need it and also got you're back if anything happens and good people
Okay if you get a nice department
The department I currently work in is shocking to the point it has caused me depression. The management if you can call them that have no formal experience in management and any problems that you present them with gets swept under the carpet and if your colleague/supervisor is friends with the manager then god help you!,
Treated unfairly as colleague/supervisors who are friends with management get perks to leaving early or don't have to follow protocol to calling in sick / requesting annual leave.
Get talked to like a child / like you're an idiot on a daily basis.
Staff use their banding to give them a sense of hierarchy.
No easy way in which to progress or access worth while courses to help you progress.
Half of the interviews are for staff already in the department as the department has to advertise them!
