good for a start

Indeed featured review

it is good if you are a starter in your career. The staffs are supportive but the manager is rude. work-life balance isn't up to the mark. you may need to work more hours if the manager is asking to do. overall if you need some desperate money try there

Not the career progression I needed.

Not the career progression opportunity i needed.Typical day: deliveries and mystery shoppers, fuel spillages. Best part of the job - customer service.

No bringing work home with you.

Low wage.

Best job I’ve had

My job with shell is definitely the best one I’ve had. I have a super supportive manager who is very accommodating to my recently diagnosed adhd and makes sure all her staff are looked after properly whilst still being fair and treating everyone equally in line with company procedure. Every day is different and you meet lots of incredible people. The regular customers get to know you very well and always say hi and sometimes you’ll only see someone once and never see them again because they were just passing through. There’s always work to get on with even when the forecourt is empty and full training is provided in every necessary aspect. As well as this the range of shifts available is varied and is very flexible. Lone working isn’t always great but on busy days you barely notice anyway.

Flexible shifts and advancement opportunities

Lone working

Cleaning toilets!?

The manager is a very lenient person but the job includes cleaning toilets of the Budgens station, and there are constant danger of gangsters and crackheads as it's a night shift.

Terrible Company

Business was too political, Sacked owners just to get the people they wanted. No job security at all and no days off when you reach management.

Didn’t pay what they said

Night shifts you were on your own and only got minimum wage no extra for nights or how well you done. Your expected to do 2 people’s job on your own.

Nice management, poor conditions.

Managent Always asking for extra shifts with no time off. Expected to complete work computer assignments during time off. Allowed to get on with the job with minimal supervision. No one to cover if you want toilet break. No break on shift.

Allowed to get on with the job

No breaks

Stressful and boring job

Paid the same wage for everyone which benefitted me but the shift hours were either really early (7am - 3pm) or you'd get out late (3-11pm) which was bad for me as i had no life structure. Drive offs got taken out of wages if deemed 'preventable' and it was highly stressful due to being alone with no manager a lot of the time.

Pay the same for all staff

Boring No discounts or anything given to staff Isolated job Drive offs taken out of wages

People can make the difference

Overall job security and benefits are good. Some really great talented people, but also there are many who coast along and seem to still progress. Culture is friendly but can be hierarchical

Flexible working options

Progression can be political

The work environment is very competitive and uncomfortable to work in.

The work is fast paced, you are always kept busy which is ideal if you like that kind of work however the environment is very sided, and competitive.

Please be fair to each employees. Should not playing a selective styles of performance review. Work life balance is just decent. Nothing special on pay and benefits.

Average pay.

Boring job, get stressful

The pay is terrible for cashier's and supervisors alike. So career progression is a risk for a little rise and so not worth the stress. It's a boring job in the best way sometimes but most of the time, there is never enough staff to cover shifts when people are sick or holiday so you are pulled into extra shifts. Best part of the job is your coworkers and supervisors, they can make your shift or make it 100 times harder.

Supervisors are lovely, Easy job when everything goes to plan

Lack of cover, No real career progression, Terrible pay, Starting before 6am
