Decent place to be in. Can’t fault it except when you are sick and cant really cancel unless you get someone to cover you due to the 5 days policy. But work environment is good

Very professional and transparent

Every day is a pleasant and fulfilling day at Showsec. The culture is one of mutual respect and transparency. The most challenging part of my day is sometimes not having enough time to complete a project but not in a stressful way.The most enjoyable part of my day is engaging and collaborating with various managers and team leaders.

Pay on time, transparency and mutual respect

Negative outsider perception of the company, which may have been true many years ago but not anymore.

Rotten to the core

Spent some time working at Showsec's head office. How they conduct their business and treat their staff is laughable much of the time. The problems they have are deeply ingrained and the rotten culture which exists will not/ cannot change until those at the top of the organisation move on/ retire. No issues personally so no axe to grind, I just didn't like a lot of what I observed.

poor management and staff attitude

Management can be abusive, arrogant and they usually have their favorites, some of the staff are extremely negative, if you are not part of the in group then you can only expect work on the weekends, forget about weekdays, showsec gets upset if yo suddenly fall ill and have to cancel a shift but they are happy to cancel your shift on short notice and not compensate you and i will never forgive the company for not furloughing staff during the pandemic.

Good events but very one sided

The job isn't the issue, the always list is on one hand if someone has been there years they will get first priority for work in terms of positions will be allocated by management but the favourites will get the best and same positions within the arena. With the smaller venues they will give the same people the hours rather than first come first serve so some people will have loads of hours and others will have very little tobe truthful there isn't enough hours to live and pay the bills alone this needs tobe a second job the people that seem to get the hours is ether close friends or people that earn mega money on there day job and that is willing to jump everytime they they ask

The events

Not enough work

Poor company to work for. Dont bother. Stack shelves instead

Poor organisation. You are just dropped at your position. Not given any information You are left for long periods with no breaks, food etcSupervisors do not look after their team. Only work for showsec if your desperate .Pay poor. Only £10 per hr and long shifts

You may see an odd event thats good

Poor organisation by supervisors, staff left for 6 or 7 hrs without breaks

Good company to work for

Good company to work for however wouldn’t rely on the work as your sole income as the work can dry up and there can be quiet periods. However when there is lots of work available you have the opportunity to make a lot of money.

Some of the staff I worked with were amazing . Made some good friends. Got to experience alot. Unfortunately the company itself didn't really look after their staff unless you were in the click with management. Very little recognition . Not much appreciation towards the staff. Luckily I manged to gain lots of experience from the events I covered

Decent place to work

mostly dealing with customers, not a tough job. Usually, let us leave earlier, depending on the show times. need to buy your own earpiece and need to deal with the loud music and cheers a lot.

Would never go back

They’ll work you to the bone if you let them and they don’t care about the welfare of staff.Poor working conditions and will double you up with multiple shifts and not allow time to take a break in between.

Terrible avoid avoid avoid

From start to finish this is a terrible company, you get treated like dirt by Management. The induction course was terrible, told the training is 09:00 - 11:30am, this is not the case. You come on at 09:00am and are stuck in a waiting room for 30 mins. The course then over runs to 12:15pm, the videos during the induction lag and the sound quality is poor.Showsec is a must avoid company.

Good side hustle

Friendly and supportive staff. Nice working atmosphere. Hours can be long and boring at times. Freedom to choose the shift you are more comfortable working at. Easy to find shift cover as well.

Productive and fun people

Interesting people work here and very flexible work hours. Many venues across London which may interest you.Can be difficult at times with some stressful situations however can easily be resolved

I would recommend as a part time causal job. It is good if you have a few hours to spare or to work on the weekends. Management does not care about you, they only see you as number to fill in a spot.

Good second job and competitive pay.

- management are well organized and very friendly. - good training provided for those who need it including paid for courses.- company prefers to progress from within there are always opportunities to progress to supervisor even as a zero hour contract if you have other commitments. - lots of work and most positions are static.Cons- zero hour contracts are good as a side income but if this is your main job you won't have many rights as an employee. This is the only downside.

Scruffy, Power trips, Embarrassing

I feel embarrassed to associate with this company. The mangers seem to be on a ridiculous power trip- almost like they enjoy confrontation and hold this false sense of superiority whilst wearing showsec uniform. Some are really scruffy and Showsec standards have slipped over the years. Almost like they will employ anyone who wants a job. Seen them shout at young teenagers for almost no reason and talk to people like they are running a boot camp, forgetting most people are out to have a good time. It’s like they aren’t clever enough to get into the police so this is the next best thing…it isn’t. Hours are ridiculously long at times and they act like you’ve won a prize if you get the chance to be given a 20 minute break. Lots of gossip and inappropriate chats during work. Some of the managers lack hygiene. It’s just an embarrassing excuse for a safety and security company. Even other security companies don’t like showsec because of how unprofessional they are. Avoid, unless you want to join a bunch of clowns.

Great workplace as it was 0 hour contract work i could choose when i did and didn’t want to work, i would recommend this job to anyone even as a side job for some extra change

A great crew of people and friendly on the ball supervisors.

All work is ad hoc and sometimes minimal hours. Sometimes shifts get changed along with hours. Be prepared to work out in the open so weather is a disadvantage..dont expect to be in the arena listening or watching the acts at the venueAs a new start ur more likely to be put backstage or out in the car parks.

Good place to work. Lots of different events and the opportunity to work all over the UK at different events. No two days are the same which gives variety
