Productive fun workplace
A typical day at work consisted of, coming into work, often getting greeted by your team of colleagues then sitting at a desk taking customer service calls from John Lewis Customers. I learnt many customer service skills and many teamwork skills. Hardest part of the job was the customers themselves sometimes they could be more than difficult. The most enjoyable part of the job was my co-workers and the environment, it was always a happy environment and everyone seemed the enjoy what they were doing.

Modern slavery and lack of support
I worked for Sitek for a year and a half. During this time I saw many people come and go. This is mainly due to volume of calls, no breaks between calls and low pay. In Exeter, Sitel is the lowest paid call centre. There is lot of favouritism and little support when you struggle. Managers tend to look down on employees and never have time for one-to-ones. You have to be on the phone all the time and you are treated like a number and a robot. People are replaced very quickly there and the staff turnover is very high, but the company doesn't care about it. I wouldn't recommend this place as it is more a prison rather than a supportive workplace.
Lots of overtime available
Low pay, unhealthy work environment, no life-work balance, long hours
