Skanska are not at the forefront of ethics and green for no reason. their work is important and they treat their staff with respect and understanding. There is flexibility which allows for a good work life balance however it is unfortunate that the salary is lower than some competitors. The benefits package as a whole does ease this notion though so it is a trade off. Good confidence in management, overall a great place to work.
Pros
Exceptional ethics and culture
Cons
Good benefits, but low salary
Skanska do not live up-to their core values and practise what they preach if it has a detrimental effect on their bottom line. Penny pinching organisation that provide little to no training and no prospect of development. The Senior Leadership Team in my current operating unit do not inspire leadership, confidence and as such, no direction.
Cons
No clear strategy
It’s a good place to work if you are visible to Skanska. My line managers on the projects were not Skanska staff and were always keen to promote people from their own company Also I found that even when I outlined the achievements, challenges and future objectives of my job it didn’t matter anything the line manager said usually overrode my opinions even though the line manager Skanska wanted to talk to was not my line manager on the project
Pros
Flexible working hours
Cons
No Support from Skanska line manager when I was on the project
Can have a laugh but there is no standard of work what so ever, got people been on there years an they still can’t complete work to a average standard. Loads of pointless training. Money’s average
This company are the worst around bad management no work ethics no health and safety there at all all they care about is the money they make not the end product that they leave
Having been employed for 11 years with Skanska. Their senior management are given to much freedom and the lower ranked employees are not listened too and dismissed far to easily

Skanska management at site level are bullies . They rarely practice what they peach in Health and safety in site. I found that that Skanska code of conduct was utter hypocrisy as far as blue collar workers are concerned.

The need to produce works to a high standard is essential for stakeholders related to the activities being undertaken, as the the outcomes are critical for legacy implications

Told we are having a cabin .Skanka have no money but the waster advisor can take on an assistant lots of folk cant work out why .Waste bins never washed and smelly .Had to provide own task light .
This was a very enjoyable experience one was made very welcome by anyone who I met within the company from senior management to the reception desk.
Friendly and encouragement given to encompass learning.
After working for skanska for 4 years they employed my brother and paid him more than me. No annual salary check and pay is all over the place. Good company but lack of professionalism
Disappointed to be leaving and would recommend to persons wanting to further their career.
Training and development is always encouraged and available to those wanting to progress.
Enjoyable place of work, training and developments opportunities are very good within the company training matrix.
Working as a small team has many benefits, it felt more like a family than work colleagues.
Great environment
100 per cent committed to safety and great wage structure too
Very knowledgable work staff and contractors on site
Training given for the right candidates
There are plenty of opportunities to develop yourself. Health and well-being is important and there are many different sectors to work in and the Company stretches across the Country.
productive and fun place to work nice place. Some departments are busier then others. it seems to be either very quiet of very busy, I have only experience working in the med centre and find it can be quite boring at times.
Skanska are determined to provide safe, balanced and supportive work place. Training is eloquent and frequent. HR and other employee support services are excellent.
