Like any job they keep changing because of the new way of working because of the covid situation and more remote work is done but things can change on a weekly basis but they do what they can to help

Avoid at all costs

Please do not even bother joining this company. They do not care about you it is all about the money.Everyone that started at the same time as myself left within the first 3 months.

Okay, but not for everyone

My role was mostly call centre-based and therefore rather stressful to say the least. You need to be prepared for angry customers and some chaos from the management, but if you can deal with that then it's not the worst. I was pretty happy with my job, but some people absolutely hated it - so I guess you need to find out and decide for yourself!

Pros

Paid overtime, good amount of breaks, interesting experience

Cons

Not enough time between the calls, strict team leaders, unclear rules

Do not have loyalty to employees that have worked with them for years

Since new management have taken over the last 2 years slater and Gordon has gone down hill as they have no loyalty to long term staff and have made a lot of redundancies .

Terrible workplace

The company does not care for the well-being of its employees. They treat you like dirt if you take time off because you are sick and are not interested in medical evidence to support you. They get rid of anyone easily. They emphasise on being professional yet the supervisors and managers are not professional at all.

Cons

Long hours unpaid breaks stupid management

Shocking

Very strict, horrible management, don’t have a minute to breathe after a call a manager will tell you to go onto the next call, act like it’s not a call centre in the interview but it is !They also Harrass customers ring them 5 times a day if you dont answer then when they have signed the papers the lawyers never contact the clients

Avoid - Dreadful emplyer.

Simply put, this is a toxic blame culture with no support and dozens of people who will crawl all over you to survive themsleves. Senior management spend all day in meetings to discuss items which are years outstanding with no hope really for collecting.

Pros

Wfh

Cons

No support, devious manipulative senior workforce. No support.

Terrible company to work for

Not all that it seems. Its like working on a production line....call after call after call. You are expected to be on a call for sometimes an hour plus...even if that means you are on an 8pm finish, you can't say you will call back.

Pros

None

Cons

Everything

Shambles

If you're looking to gain experience, then you will gain some short term. However, be prepared for long working hours, poor case management systems, high staff turnover and no job security.

Pros

Met some great people.

Cons

Poor management

rewarded for the wrong reasons, retributed for doing the right things

faced paced call centre environment, front line staff are treated as disposable assets, management stick to strict procedures and are not willing to adapt for a better work environment, standard call centre job with military hierarchy.

Pros

get free diary and water bottle

Cons

have to deal with company bs which is completely irrelevant to the role

Avoid like the plague

Don’t know where to start ... on paper this company look great in reality there a shambles. Training is a couple of days of power point presentations then your led under false pretences told your only doing one set of skills I.e RTA only then your thrown into everything. Management are the worst they don’t know how to do the job so you get no support because there clueless of there role never mind yours. Expected to work over if stuck on a call and don’t get the time back even if it’s past 8pm. Holidays are never approved. Mental health awareness is none existing in slater and Gordon it’s disgusting how they treat humans your just a robot to them to make money for the powers above so if your feeling low anxious or stressed which is mainly brought on by the job and ask for help you will be turned away. No one who works there is happy but the management don’t care. Pay is dreadful no bonus’s or insensives yet your expected to go above and beyond just so the management can get there bonus’s you do all the work and get no recognition. Work life balance also none existent. If you want a job where you spend your working day filled with dread and worry then this is the job for you. The only decent thing about the place is your colleges there great and everyone knows how miserable everyone else is so they all uplift each other and try to make is bareable.

Pros

None

Cons

Poor management, no bonus. Awful pay. No work balance. No support

Not ideal

Targets are unmanageable, and there is a lot of pressure put on you to achieve them regardless of whether your files are in a position to settle. Don’t think that the company wants to pay out bonus, so moves the goalpost continuously so most people don’t reach it. Company definitely cares more about money than it does it’s staff or clients. Made to feel like you work in a call centre, including chasing up clients continuously. How much legal work you do is limited, it is mainly admin and repeatedly chasing up clients. Case load is over the top, and I don’t believe it is possible to keep on top of it without constantly feeling stressed and worn out. 25 days holiday is good, especially as bank holidays are on top.

Pros

Down to Earth staff

Cons

Consistent pressure and stress

NCS Advisor

Too many chefs. Training isn’t long enough. Only 2 weeks. Unhelpful system, fake management support and poor moral. If you don’t want to talk to frustrated people everyday, avoid!

Pros

Met some nice people during training but that’s it.

Cons

False promises. Feels like cold calling. Bad management.

Too many chiefs not enough Indians “AVOID”

Please AVOID, the job is stressful, the people are unhelpful, everybody passes the book, they send the Indians home to work with no support and pay the managers 100% for doing nothing. The customers are all bad tempered and shouting not knowing what’s going on and the targets!,well I hope you can jump through some very small hoops. Get any other job but this please unless you like punishment.

Pros

Free tea & coffee but we ended up working from home so none.

Cons

Everything about this company, please, please AVOID

Not a good place to work

Managers across most departments are useless and seem to enjoy taking petty personal issues to an extreme.still struggling to deal with the fallout of a disastrous merger it seems

Very stressful place to work.

The company treat the staff like they are robots. They also discriminated against a few employees who had medical conditions and who needed time off for hospital appointments. They want you doing overtime all the time and never praise their staff.

Pros

Only have to work 1 weekend a month.

Cons

Expected to answer calls like robots with no time to breathe.

Proactive

The company is very proactive in ensuring the business runs effectively and ensures all personal needs are met to help people adapt and work. All relevant training is providing and they actively ensure all employees are adequately trained.

Fast Paced

Overall a good place to work Difficult to review as I was only employed here for a short period of time and much of that was spent at home under lock down

Poor communication and management

Job security is poor , management scarce when needed, passed the buck. Good salary, but stressful working conditions, dog eat dog culture, made for a toxic environment.
