Key Holder in Lakeside Shopping Centre, Essex Fun Workplace
One of the main reasons I loved working at Smiggle was because of my team and manager their was just amazing girls! I stayed longer because of them! It was a fun place to work at but very busy and the management wasn’t really helpful at times.
Assistant Manager in Nottingham Don't bother
They will use you till you break and definitely long hours No surport at all you are running around like a headless chicken most of the time, nothing is good enough nearly everyday 30 boxers of delivery change the shop round one promotion starts the one day a new one the next so you have to set the shop up again it's a joke work on your own for hours be expected to serve on the till sell give customer service do delivery and emails do change over and look out for shop lifters and if you don't do your budget you get asked why What could have done differently (Give me hours to help) but the staff will get the blame for the stock loss and it going out the back door you will get asked if your doing that No trust but No help to resolve the issue, can not keep staff due to the way they get treated whilst being there I had 9 different mangers and now they are just desperate to get anyone run the shop good luck.
Christmas Temp Sales Assistant in Bluewater, Kent Great bubbly store!
This store is full of so much happiness and job it was a great Christmas temp job really enjoyed meeting new people and learning more about myself and what I enjoy with work.
Sales Assistant in Dundee Worst job I've had.
It was a decent job for quick cash, but the environment was just strange.
The manager was a bit of a man child and talked to everyone like children. Shop offers and sales changed daily, meaning it was borderline impossible to remember what exactly was in the deals of the day, and the constant changing prices.
You were constantly pushed to hit targets that, on the often quiet days, was borderline impossible. And you were looked down upon for not bullying that rushing office worker into buying a journal and sand pot with her single ball point pen. There was an immense amount of pressure to constantly throw items in customers faces until they relented. If you had a twang of guilt or sense to stop after the fifth fluffy rainbow pen offer and just got the poor, cringing person their original items you would face the cold constant glare of your manager preparing a passive aggressive speech to encourage you to keep pushing these deals until the customer relents.
That never sat well with me, this simply isn't a good place to work. Unless your freakishly jolly, okay with forcing deals upon deals down innocent peoples throat and are good at pulling teeth to get any conversation from your equally depressed coworkers.
Supervisor in London South East, Greater London Terrible company. Bullying
Typical day, 100% STRESS they want you to do a weeks worth of work in one day and during that time you will be lone trading most the time.
Pay is always wrong and payroll talk to you like dirt.
Management talk to you like dirt and want you live and breath smiggle even want you to work through your breaks.
I really don't recommend working for this company.
