Smith and Byford were established in 1966. We now directly employ 400+ members of staff, yet remain a family run business. We specialise in delivering Gas, Electrical and BMS services to over 15 Registered Providers in London and the South of England.

Total Home Solutions (THS) are part of the Smith and Byford group. Our THS showroom in Cheam Village opened in 2012 where our team specialise in delivering Gas, Electrical and Plumbing services to local private Homeowners and Landlords....

Not bad company to work for if you’re very patient

your job is to go to social housing and service/fix boilers.If they allocate a work patch it’s easier but if you’re a floater, they’ll send you to Dover,Eastbourne,West sussex,Tunbridge wells and you’ll be driving more than doing real work.Management will track you what time you leave home or what time you arrive home at the end of the shift.If you leave work patch early for home or you leave hom...

Poor from top to bottom

As they say lay peanuts get monkeys, poor pay overload with work. Managers and office staff incompetent, lots of favouritism need to be a comedian to get in with office staff to get decent work. Directors incompetent and favouritism again have to be friends or family to make it up the ladder. Leave well alone

My experience was very poor, rude office staff who always had their own agendas. Managers who didn’t even have a clue with how to do their jobs correctly. Inadequate, unsafe workmanship and selfish engineers. Quantity over quality where there should be a balance. How many more contracts are you gonna lose before you realise how to keep them.
