Had a great experience of working with some great staff and a few good managers. But try and contact anyone from Sodexo with a query no chance. Holidays declined all the time? The Humanforce app is a farce and if I didn’t need it I would delete it. Don’t ask them a question, just turn up when they want you to.
Pros
Free food and a paid lunch break.
Cons
Just the management on the phone were unresponsive

Working for and with the Sodexo team has and continues to be and job that challenges and captivates a good working experience - The working environment is excellent. The equal opportunities and positive attitudes displayed by this company especially in terms of a non discrimination policy in terms of race, culture, physical and mental ability and gender are outstanding. Also the attention to binding themselves to the local communities in such a positive way are commendable.
Pros
Job satisfaction
Cons
Sometimes long hours

I worked in the prison in West Lothian for 8 years. When I started I loved my job and worked with some truly amazing and talented people from the bottom to the top. There was experience everywhere and the place had a feeling that everyone had your back. You have SPS veterans who had 20+ years experience, people that had seen and did it all. By the time I left the place was unrecognisable and had fallen so far. The positivesI worked with the best bunch of officers/ people I have ever met. Was part of 2 amazing teams below SPCO level during my 8 years. The money is better than most jobs in the area but could be better for the job you do. Meals and parking were freeTraining was first class. Now the negatives Huge staff turnover. Within months of me leaving I wouldn't recognise anyone in my old unitHigh stress job with little support from SPCO upwardsPrisoners treated better than staffToo much politics when it came to decision making. All experienced managers and officers left leaving sub par replacements. 20+ year SPS veterans replaced by lecturers and administrators as duty managers. Long hours with little rest between shiftsPoor staffing either under staffed or little experience on shift. Huge safety issues with prohibited items being left as sodexo didn't want financial penalties including weapons and mobiles on wingsBig drug culture with wings being over run by the drug "spice". Officers were regularly being affected by it. Personally I was hospitalized more than once because of it. Recruitment left a lot to be desired with phases of hiring unsuitable officers - more...
Pros
Free meals, great staff below SPCO
Cons
Long hours, little backing, no care for physical and mental health

Supervisor was a fantasist, (made loads of unbelievable stories up on the spot to suit the situation at the time) The supervisor couldn't handle staff doing the job with no problems without their input. The site lead still thought they were in police force and didn't like anyone bringing up suggestions to make the site work better and safer. They also didn't like to be challenged over site issues, was very unapproachable all the time. The 2 of them had only 1 objective, get as many tests done in very challenging sometimes unsafe conditions onsite. The higher management weren't much better and had the same mandate.
Pros
Fair pay
Cons
Lots, to many to list, just dont work for sodexo.

As a Security Officer, I work 48 hours a week, 4 days on 4 days off. I also work nights and weekends.I answer the phone taking calls internally and external, I deal with deliveries on site.I deal with the paperwork making sure that everything is set up for the say shift which is busy. PC knowledge is important in the role and a positive but pleasant manner is important.
Pros
Some benefits are available via hub.
Cons
Long hours

Good Company but no living wage. Was made redundant due to Covid unfortunately. Loved my job but not all the people. It was a fast paced day so your shift would go in quickly.

Area manager is constantly watching even though I have been doing the same job for 9 years. You are often asked (even if you don't want to ) do more hours because of a staff shortage. As they lay to many staff off as they try to make even more money for their shareholders. They scrimp and try to save on cleaning supplies by giving you the cheapest of alternatives
Pros
Home time
Cons
Being watched constantly

Not a job for any good worker. They will make you loose all motivation! Joke of a company. Every minute your late on shift they take 15minutes from your pay but still have you waiting round after your shift is finished and won’t reimburse you - they say to let them know if bus was running late eg they’d sort it and never have done! On the system that you do sign into runs at the speed of a 1970s computer it takes you over 10min just to sign in and out of the building and then it’s our pay that gets effected..!! They will ask you to cover for others and still talk down to you and have zero respect for any employee. Management are ALWAYS complaining about their jobs their paid to do. I’ve been working alongside another staff members that are extremely lazy and don’t do anything about it just expect everyone else to pick up after them and the company does nothing about it.
Pros
Pension scheme
Cons
Everything!

Very well managed, great pay and flexible. I had no problems at all when I needed last minute time off and everyone was so friendly and helpful. I had to leave due to personal circumstances and again, a pleasant and easy process. When able, I will be looking at taking more work with Sodexo.
Pros
Free lunch. Flexibility. Good rates of pay. Helpful.
Cons
None.

Love working a test centre with fellow Sodexo colleagues.Have to bid for shifts which is weird and not very fair. You have to call and leave voicemail if you cant make shift and email As it's a zero hour contract and only certain shifts available this is best as a second job as shifts arent dependable
Pros
Great hourly pay
Cons
Bidding for shifts
