Great Job Security, lacks incentive for selling
Sales Consultant (Current Employee) - London, Greater London - 19 January 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedGreat place to work for, great staff and management. The training is intensive but very easy to get through, give it time you will learn the product knowledge and the process on using the iPads. Also many company benefits to take advantage for. Plus they do encourage people who would want to be store manager or deputy manager to go on a leadership course. However if you are a competitive sales person, and you are highly motivated by money the business may not be for you. There is no commission, your bonus consists on store monthly targets, so you will have to work as a team, as well as relying on other people to pull their weight. You will also be paid on conversion of customers in store, both bonus brackets are achievable, but unrealistic due to the cost of living crisis. If you hit both bonus brackets, the money is decent, but you wont be guaranteed hit both brackets every single month. You will also have store and individual targets, the KPI's are achievable but you don't get anything for it, if you hit or smash your targets. Overall great, but if you are highly motivated by money it may not be for you. There is a big lack of incentive for individual performances.
Pros
good benefits, great place to work, decent basic salary
Cons
work to life balance, lack of individual incentive

WORST company I have worked for!
Customer Service Advisor (Former Employee) - Liverpool - 17 November 2022
I worked for Customer Services at Sofology on the phone lines for reference. The management of this company is so POOR. They don't even know what they're doing themselves. They constantly have an attitude with all the staff & seem to have there own "clique". Always have an issue with you going the toilet or talking to your friend for a second, whilst they go on multiple smoke breaks throughout the shift. Every time you need help or a customer wants to speak to them, it's non-exist as there is either nobody around or they refuse to speak to the customer. This leaves you to deal with the backlash of very angry customers (who have a facebook group if you haven't seen it). There is barely any staff as they all drop like flies - this leaves you constantly busy and stressed. If your used to be being treated badly in roles and talked down too, then maybe this is for you. However, I would AVOID any role in this company at all costs. It won't be long untill they go bust.

Bonus
Cons
Management, Poor Treatment

- Sense of belonging
- Support from manager
Senior Managers are incompetent
Sales Consultant (Current Employee) - Scotland - 22 October 2022
Poor initial training which is something that makes the job increasingly difficult once you are out of probation due to this the majority of new staff are on performance plans within 1/2 months of coming out of probation Senior managers act like detectives, throwing out unfound accusations for the purpose of intimidation. Pay only good if bonus is hit however the targets for hitting the bonus are normally unattainable. Managers find it hard to dedicate themselves to assisting staff as senior management insist on them focussing on things that have no value to the company nor the staff nor the management.
Pros
Pay
Cons
The ethos of the company and senior managers

Stressful
Advisor (Former Employee) - Remote - 29 September 2022
Stressful They do a lot of good for charities and the pay is fair but you aren’t valued as staff it’s only when you threaten to leave they show an interest They don’t care about home life balance and only promote supporting mental health because they have too You could be in hospital ridiculously poorly and they still ask you to log in Some management are nice but it’s very much a case of who you know in there rather than what you know

different every day
7.5 tonne driver (Former Employee) - Rugby, Warwickshire - 13 September 2022
Delivering sofas into customers homes, physically demanding but also very rewarding. Good bunch of people who would help you out in a pickle as long as you would return the favour.

Sofologist
Sales Advisor (Former Employee) - Doncaster - 25 July 2022
Great pay and support from management but the team will stab you in the back if your performance starts to slip. Quality of the product doesn't really suit the price tag in most circumstances
Pros
Pay
Cons
Team ethic

Warehouse assistant

Broken promises
Customer Service Advisor (Full-time) (Current Employee) - Golborne - 10 June 2022
Colleagues are great and helpful. I feel for the new members as they get very little support and shifts are changed without notice. There is only a 2 minute admin time whih is totally insufficient to do all the work necessary. People pay thousands for their sofas and unless they quote the law they are treated terribly.

its okay
Customer Service Advisor (Current Employee) - Golborne - 6 June 2022
company is okay but the work is not, i enjoy the people but the customers are the worst part of the day as well as internal services. Also working weekends and bank holidays is not enjoyable.

Great company to work for
Sales Consultant (Current Employee) - Farnborough, Hampshire - 5 May 2022
I've been with the company for just over a year and I can honestly say I've never before felt as valued as an employee. Great team, good pay/bonuses, excellent benefits and opportunities to advance or change roles.
Pros
Brilliant corporate ethos which does what it says on the tin.
Cons
One can sometimes feel let down by the tech and IT.

Fun workplace just depends on who you work with. Trying to be a knock off asos
Sales Executive (Current Employee) - London, Greater London - 2 May 2022
Turing into dfs they don’t have their own identity used to have good bonuses now they put targets really high so you can’t earn anything. They also come down on you really hard and make you feel like your worthless.
Pros
Birthdays off
Cons
Long hours and they don’t care about you.

They are desperate to keep hold of staff
Retail Assistant (Former Employee) - Gateshead, Tyne and Wear - 8 April 2022
It is not a fun place to work as they promote it.Target sales and making it hard to achieve.Their staff turnover is incredible and their after sales is non existent so creativity on the shop floor is so difficult as it’s complaint after complaint. And if your on lates with no managers good luck as that’s when most customers come in irate. Not a nice position when they are so angry that they have been on hold on the phone for hours. Please don’t be fooled no commission to customers as all the competitors know it’s false.Your choice if you want false promises to OTE £35000 good luck.

Terrible company
Sales Consultant (Current Employee) - Golborne - 28 March 2022
Sofology shows a nice side to the public but working on their "team" in store is very, very competitive and toxic. The management are lazy and do almost nothing all day, and the company puts a lot of pressure on to perform and hit targets and sell addons. Would not recommend you have been warned.

The benefits package whilst working for this company are amazing. Health care, discounts on shopping and discounts are sofology and the DFS group. If you love sales you'll love this job. Achieving targets, selling up, recommending perfect products and closing deals. Bonus based paid

Great pay and benefits
Sales Consultant (Former Employee) - Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear - 20 March 2022
Great place to work, with a fast paced environment and great team atmosphere. Pay, holiday and benefits in my opinion are industry leading. Only downside is that some of the targets are unrealistic and change how they are measured too often for my liking. In the year I was there they introduced 3/4 new KPIs and raised the requirement or price of another 2/3
