In most teams, more fast pace and demanding than you would expect. If you are experienced in private sector as most of my career has been, I’ve been so surprised by how busy my normal day to day is. South Glos is one of the youngest councils around and wants to challenge the status quo.

People leave managers and excessive workloads. Focus on these aspects and you will likely prevent more people leaving. Reward performance more, not just a pay on the back. Move away for NJC pay awards and pay your staff what they are worth locally, rather than a set national pay framework.
