LGV 2 Driver in Blantyre, South Lanarkshire

Relaxed atmosphere
Job is easy - as long as your ok with reversing and tight manoeuvres around residential streets! Job and finish is good - usually in the house for 2 o’clock …. hopefully this will stay even though the Covid restrictions have relaxed!won't disclose in Clyde Valley area

Secure job with reasonable pay
Working for the council in South Lanarkshire is a good, steady job, but it often feels a bit like being back at school. You are not allowed to use initiative, nor do you have autonomy. There are too many line managers and middle managers (and these are not always filled by the most competent people). There's a lot of form filling. There's procedures for everything, but little is put effectively into practice. The money is okay. Uniform is provided. A 20 minute break for a whole shift is not enough.Early Years Assistant in South Lanarkshire

Amazing council to work for! And I had a very supportive, friendly team.
I worked as part of an early years team, gained alot of experience in a short time of being there. A very positive work place! I would recommend a job with the council for stability too. Home Carer in East Kilbride

Excellent level of support.
I had started working with South Lanarkshire Council as a Carer shortly before the pandemic and the level of support provided by SLC was/is excellent. A range of wellbeing and support services is provided. In terms of the job, like any other essential worker, the pandemic has made working exhausting and mentally taxing, however, it's what I signed up for, whether the times be good or bad. Very decent employer!
Already back in 2016 we were earning £9.50 an hour, I’m pretty sure now it’s £11.50! As long as you do your work and do it well, this is a pretty decent company (council) to work for and I’d gladly work for them again! What would you say about your employer?
