We provide the widest range of NHS mental health services in the UK. We also provide substance misuse services for people who are addicted to drugs and alcohol. We work closely with the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience (IoPPN), King's College London and are part of King's Health Partners Academic Health Sciences Centre.

We have about 4,800 staff working for us and serve a local population of 1.1 million people. We have more than 230 services including inpatient wards, outpatient and community services.

We provide inpatient care for approximately 5,300 people each year and we treat more than 45,000 patients in the community in Lambeth, Southwark, Lewisham and Croydon.

It’s decent

It can be stressful, but interesting. Sometimes feels poorly managed but it really depends on your manager and team. Long hours, 12-14 hours. It can be dangerous sometimes.

Essentially a really great organisation

I have worked within many roles within this organisation. I feel there is a lot of career progression opportunities in terms of learning and development. They offer apprenticeships and further training to enhance your knowledge. They remain up to date in terms of pay scale and advancements.
