Residential Child Care Officer for South Tyneside Council. in Tyne and Wear
on 14 September 2023
Used to be a good place to work with a reasonable living wage.
Southtyneside council has gone down the pan over the last 5 years or so. Some incredibly poor management in various departments. Management stick together with there lies. A huge over haul of management is needed right across the board. Especially in all sectors of social care.

Awful
Avoid this place like the plague - toxic backbiting culture seems to be the norm. No support from management whatsoever. Everyone out looking to save their own skin.
Social Worker in South Shields, Tyne and Wear

Avoid like the plague
No support from management to help you develop or progress. You are left to yourself from day one with little to no training and expected to know their own internal processes without any reference to them
HGV Driver in South Shields

chance for progression
Good place for newly qualified social workers to learn and grow. Salary competitive and agile working continues to make life balance appealing. Flexible working hours up to 10 pm so possible to sort out domestic arrangements and catch up with work. Training ongoing and encouraged.
