The scheme I work in currently is great, but the only thing that lets it down is the management and the complete change in how the scheme I work in runs. If they could get this sorted and more organised then it could be a better place to work.
Good benefits and training
Unsociable hours and over worked
The job is taking calls from the residents which varies from repair calls to suicide calls, this is generally okay and not bad. However the management are clueless and constantly hound you to take calls. There is no rest and no respect from the managers, they care only about the calls and not the well-being of staff. You are not allowed to go to the toilet without telling a manager, it is incredibly strict. If you like being told what to do by someone who is not prepared to do what you do then it’s the job for you.
Poor management and strict staff
Positives are that some of the staff were nice, the training programe is thorough and you are not thrown in the deep end without support, location is good for lunch breaks in town. Negatives, salary is low, the job itself is boring, it is like being back at school in the way you are treated. Tied to your phone of incoming calls, timing monitored, your calls are recorded and played back to you at a later date by your manager to point out what you could do better. If you are 1 minute late back to your desk from a break they will force you to make up that minute at the end of your shift. Coming from a company where I was trusted with alot of responsibly, this felt like a big step back and that we were treated like children. Standard office cliques present also, management had favourites, few school yard bullies and brown noses. In summary, its ok short term if you are desperate for work but no job satisfaction long term
Good training, handy location for lunch
Patronising managers, low pay
The company tag line is 'a business with social objectives' and I enjoy the fact that I am contributing to a valuable social service. The company is committed to providing the best possible value to its customers and is currently undergoing an exciting modernisation project.
The organisation is a major UK charitable social housing provider attracting staff motivated by high standards of customer service delivery. The working environment was civilised and well structured by a strong sense of mutual respect and collaborative management between colleagues. The service delivery environment was highly regulated by government agencies and improving customer satisfaction was a highly valued strategic objective. The senior management teams were generally regarded as decent, ethically motivated people.
As managed the control accounts for the groupand designed the reoncilliation system, was given the oportunity to gain expereince into the accounting systems of the company in its entirety, from porocessing to production of audit.Great team work within the company with co workers
