Not very organised

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
Company is ok but far too much focus on monitoring an app, therefore sometimes forgetting the basics of transport. Not really a transport supervisor position as you barely get to make decisions without approval , from the other depot at Glastonbury. They do not stick to policies or follow procedures when it comes to addressing performance in an employee.

Pros

Good home life balance, friendly drivers.

Cons

Poor pay for a supervisor/ poor policies

Great place to work and good pay for relatively easy work.

Sparks has a great fleet and keeps everything maintained to a high standard. Office staff are easy-going and friendly. Get left to it so long as you are obviously keeping good time and let them know of any delays etc, which is reasonable for anyone to expect. Overall it's a pretty laid-back environment to work in.Drivers are a good bunch, will give advise and guidance when needed.

Pros

Easy and clean work, decent fleet

Cons

Can be waiting a long time for uniform

It's a no from me.

Worst managers ever. They do what they like when they like and pretend they're interested. If face fits, then it's a daily laugh..if not, you'll be chastised and given the runt of the runs regular.

Great place to work, easy runs.

Can be a fast paced job, but at the same time it's relaxed whilst your doing it. No pressure on hours. Money is not too bad. As far as London goes, they don't do nasty kerbside deliveries. Usually all main depot's or large cash and carrys.

Pros

Relaxed working environment

Cons

Can be long hours.

Pay well but that's all

Very bad, planners who don't know tacho, they plan for 15 hour days and expect it done, they tell you to use your 10th hour driving to continue and make a delivery, so many agency staff as they can't keel employed staff

Friendly and welcoming

Fantastic place to work and your left alone to get the job done. Monday to Friday tramper and I have never had a problem being messed about on my last day. A couple of times mid week they asked if it was possible to maybe run in on a Saturday just incase traffic held me up and they where always grateful if you said it was fine but also understood if you couldn't. I can't recommend this place enough.

Pros

Left to get the job done Paid every week Clean and easy work

Cons

Deduct the 45 minutes break unfortunately

Always a joke when the assor has less experienc than the potential employee

Dangerous. Trucks absolutely diabolical sheds filthy. Vosa Christmas present on the move. Also read contract it's a zero hour. You would have more rights if on agency. High high turn over of staff money ok if you want to live in a truck

Pros

Free drink

Cons

Long hours

They expect a minimum of 13-15 hours

Highly unrecomended, management at Kegworth are unapproachable and unprofessional. They expect you to work 15 hour days and always blame the drivers for things going wrong. Steer well clear

Pros

Scania Fleet

Cons

Poor wages long hours

Long hours, short breaks

After working us into the ground, management came in on a Tuesday afternoon and laid us off with no warning. Hard work and loyalty is not appreciated nowadays, especially at Sparks Transport. If you want job security, I would not recommend Sparks at all.

Pros

None

Cons

Long hours and total lack of any appreciation for the workforce

The job was great but.....

Went for the interview, got the job which I did enjoy, 4 on 4 off which was great with me. I was there for 5 weeks then got laid off, I was rather peed off bout that, but knowing how the transport business works I don't think it was there fault to be honest, but they could have told me a bit different to the way they did, no animosity to them tho in my part. And yes I would work for them again most defo.

Do not join this company

In 30 yrs of driving this has got to be worst company I have ever driven for . Family values what a joke you have to fight to get time off for medical appointments you are lucky if you can talk to any management if you have a problem. All the office staff lie to your face even though they know drivers are getting laid off definitely do not work for this company you will regret it you have been warned
