As stores a franchised it's the director who decides. At the store I work in we have axa insurance, so once a year you can have one pair specs or sunnies and it's discounted down to £105, we can then claim that back from axa, so we get them free. Also friends and family get 50% discount. The axa and specs are really great benefits, we have generous directors in that respect.
Glasses case to the value of £2 given free every three months
All shops are franchised, so staff discounts are dependent on the generosity of the directors. The store I worked at in Hanley , stoke-on-trent wasn't brilliant. We got 50% off frames, 30% off lenses and nothing from contacts. In fact it was cheaper to buy from online competitors- even with the discount!Same for family and friends, they got a measly 30%, so quite often told them to go else where!
