Reviews about Pay & benefits for Caregiver at Springfield Healthcare
Loverly staff, long hours.
Live in carer (Current Employee) - Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire - 30 May 2021
Long hours 24 hour care paid for 12, 7days per week, do about 16 hours daily, breaks are not always taken outside of clients home, you are a lone worker, unless hoists are needed. then you will get Dom care for assisttance. Travel espenses food are inclusive weekly wage average weekly wage is about 650 wage and salary per week is before tax., you are paid monthly but it doesn't always pay the expected wage if you are part time as you have cut off dates. Best advice if you want paying for the month and you are part time work within the cut off dates not 2 weeks either side or you will have to wait a long time for the 2nd weeks pay, a whole month. Live in has its plus points you can work when you want to so can go away without using your holidays and work when you want to, 0 hour casual contract. not good if planning to buy a house. But gives flexibility. Management teams are good. Advanced training nvq unlikely. As a company training is excellent and all the girls are loverly and give a professional caring service, hourly rate isn't always what is advertised.
Cons
Long hours sometimes with inadequate breaks.

Good company
Home Carer (Current Employee) - Darlington - 15 December 2022
I have worked for Springfield Healthcare for nearly six years. I believe they are a very good company to work for compared with what I've heard about other companies. My workload fits in with my lifestyle and the company were very accomodating when I requested reducing my hours due to health reasons. They try to keep my calls near to where I live which helps with the cost of fuel in the current fuel crisis. Sometimes I have to go further but that's to cover calls where other carers are off. The office staff are helpful and friendly. There are opportunities to advance in the care industry and regular training sessions to keep skills updated.
Pros
Healthcare benefits
Cons
Always short staffed. Regularly asked to work extra hours
