Respectful
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedThe staff at the hospital are very respectful and they enjoy having other people to work with. As a volunteer, I was able to speak to the patients at the hospice and find out their own experience here so it was very nice.

productive
Volunteer (Former Employee) - Orpington - 20 February 2020
working at St Christopher's Hospice as a volunteer was relaxed and laid back. volunteering is the best way to get experience because it helped me to use the tills and handle the money that's in the tills it also helped me with doing the shop floor display.

Insights into St Christopher's Hospice
What people like
- Ability to learn new things
- Supportive environment
- Clear sense of purpose
Fun place to be
Volunteer (Former Employee) - Beckenham - 13 June 2016
Volunteering at St Christopher's gave me all the skills that would help me later in life to get a job. I was working all over the shop from working on the till, to restocking and pricing items, to sorting out old stock. Management is there to always there if you need help with prices, or unsure on anything, or up for a good laugh. there was no seen hierarchy,
Friendly environment, thoroughly enjoyed working there,
Hardest part- with donations when you cannot find space for the items but at the same time there is no room in the back for storage
Enjoyable part- working with everyone, overall customer experience
Pros
Friendly environment
Cons
Overload in donations

It wasn't about the money, it was about the experience
Volunteer (Former Employee) - Kent - 14 March 2016
I remember my first time in the shop, working out the back pricing the items. I remember annoying my nan asking her every two seconds how much should i price this or how much should i price that. i loved every minute of it, and was intrigued to learn new things and more. I loved sorting through the clothes, bringing in the ones that were out of date.
The till i most enjoyed, learning new things, meeting and greeting and interacting with more customers.
The hardest part was the idea that i wasn't so confident at the beginning, but that's what i loved about the job, I grew to feel more confident with co-workers and the customers.
But what I loved the most was how much time I could spend with my nan, while doing something we both love.
Pros
Lovely colleagues
