Flexible work with scope to earn full time wages working part time hours
Registered Nurse (Current Employee) - Tayside Region - 1 December 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedWhat is the best part of working at the company? Flexibility Next day pay App allows staff to select shifts What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Many permanent staff in nursing homes resent agency nurses. Agency nurses will always be blamed for any errors regardless if it was them who caused the error or not. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Indifferent. Communication from head off through email mostly. Good support from other staff scanner nurses through group chat. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Apply for shift Drive to work Log in to shift on app Carry out nursing duties Log out of app Drive home And repeat

Ok but not as only job
Registered Nurse (Current Employee) - Dundee - 21 September 2023
Not much choice for registered nurses, app doesn’t work effectively, companies will be informed you are working for them but you haven’t been notified shift was accepted, also as there are lots of third party companies involved shifts are accepted very late or withdrawn last minute. Ok as a second job but not only employment

Stay away from Staffscanner
Carer Assistant (Former Employee) - London, Greater London - 15 September 2023
You apply for shifts and none of those shifts get approved After a whole 48 hours of waiting and not planning your off day and not knowing whether youre approved or not the shift just dissapear meaning it would have been allocated to their favourite candidate. After going through such a streneous recruitment process i feel very frustrated.
Pros
Nothing good to say.
Cons
No shifts just wasting your time

21 September 2023Hello there, First and foremost, we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience and frustration you've experienced. We genuinely value every candidate, and we understand the importance of supporting our new candidates get their first shift. While the final decision rests with the care homes, we strive to offer the best possible match for every shift. We acknowledge that when a new candidate joins they do not have a rating yet but highlight as best as we can your experience and work history and let that shine for you when a care home decides. We also recommend not just applying for one shift but as many as you can, that way you are not waiting only on one one or two shifts to be successful. We truly believe in the potential of every candidate and would love the opportunity to assist you further. Our dedicated account managers are here to guide and support you in enhancing your profile and maximising your chances for future shifts. Let's connect soon and see how we can help you get started on a positive note. Thank you for your feedback, and we hope to have another chance to be successful in getting these awesome shifts! Warm regards, Ryan Manager

Please be careful…
Staff Nurse (Former Employee) - North Yorkshire - 1 June 2023
Absolute massive waste of time. No shifts available after comprehensive process of application. False rate of pay. Zero communication. No shifts for 60+ miles despite being told differently. Be careful before applying in the Yorkshire area as a nurse. There’s much more transparent and honest agencies to join, and plenty of work. I’ve now left, having completed the whole process and working no shifts, as there was nothing. It’s a shame to leave a negative review but I feel I need to warn other nurses that may feel like joining after their false advertising to tread carefully. On a positive, the app would be great if there was any work or communication.
Pros
The app

21 September 2023Hello, Firstly, we empathise with the frustration of not finding shifts in your particular location. The availability of shifts in new locations can sometimes fluctuate due to various reasons, but we have worked with many different care homes, councils and other care providers to supply shifts in this area. We'd love to welcome you back and invite you to some of the new shifts we have in that area. Thank you for your candid feedback, and we hope to have an opportunity to regain your trust in the future. Warm regards, Ryan. Manager @ Staffscanner

Shifts are often council and awarded to their favorite candidate. Meaning other staff are not competent.
staff (Former Employee) - United Kingdom - 25 April 2023
There are so much conciliation of shifts. one cannot pre-plane his activities for the week or subsequent weeks to come. Though you may work with different client but that doesn't guaranty booking for the net shift. some clients are home are good place to work. But the need to discus with their clint to a more effective way of approving more shift.

This is a fantastic company to work for. I have worked for over a year with Staffscanner and senior management have been very supportive and considerate of the current cost of living rises. All the teams at head office are supportive of each other and always happy to help regardless of how busy they are. Recommend the company wholeheartedly

Just a number to fill their work load
Care Assistant (Former Employee) - Lots - 26 July 2022
Just a number to fill their work quota no set hours or places it good to be flexible but can’t pay your rent if you have no work -take you off the app for little things ,then you have no money coming in ..that leaves you a lot of problems . Can have a 100 good shifts and one person gets annoyed you are agency and can say what the like about you . A lot of people hired that have no clue about the easiest side of care -one asked did a lady with no legs use a stand aid 🤦♂️🤦♂️
Pros
Sometimes good pay
Cons
Management

Official response from Staffscanner
9 September 2022Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that you were not entirely happy with your time at Staffscanner and would like the opportunity to address your concerns individually. I am happy to hear that you managed to work a lot of shifts with us during your time on the platform. A lot of our clients do like to block book staff for ongoing placements. This is down to individuals and whether this works for you around your other commitments. Our coordinating team are happy to discuss candidate availability for this directly with our clients. Unfortunately, we are not always able to guarantee hours in the same locations as this is very much dependent on the needs of the client at the time and can vary week by week. Suspension from the app is only applied if concerns have been raised regarding reliability or staff conduct. We aim to address these concerns as quickly as we can, but this is dependant on the reason for suspension and supply of information from all parties involved. In response to the worker who asked about the stand aid, did you flag this for attention with any Manager? I am not aware of any such concern and would appreciate any further information you can provide in relation to this incident. As you have left your review anonymously, we are unable to reach out to you, but we would be happy to discuss the points raised in more detail if you could get in touch with paula.lickrish@staffscanner.co.uk
Good pay
Support Worker (Current Employee) - Fife - 21 June 2022
Good pay however not suitable for all areas unless willing to travel a long time to get to shifts. Really struggled to contact management. Communication is very poor. Numerous emails and questions sent and had no replies.
Cons
Long hours and long travelling times

Supportive staff in office
Health Care Support Worker (Current Employee) - Scotland - 8 June 2022
Good respectful work environment . Staff in the office are extremely helpful and always on call. I have only positive experiences from the agency . Only concern is they appear to have over recruited, maybe not as selective and therefore not enough shifts to go around therefore gained other employment
Pros
Supportive employer
Cons
Not all staff represent the company well to our clients

Innovative company with a friendly atmosphere
Office Manager (Current Employee) - Glasgow City Centre, Glasgow - 5 November 2021
I’ve been working at Staffscanner for around a month and feel like I’ve already become part of an amazing organisation with strong core values. Having worked in the care sector for 8 years this was a great opportunity for me in terms of personal progression and skills development. The team have welcomed me in with open arms and have been open to my suggestions for improving the services Staffscanner provides. I look forward to working here for a long time.
