Working hours are long expect to drive up to a max of five and a halve hours before an official break then get over two hours off unpaid break then back in the seat for another long spell behind the wheel ,and if you can keep you eyes open then the rest of the day is yours .
Terribly long hours. sat in a bus bursting for the bog is no fun. I don't know how all the old boys manage wi prostate probs etc
39 hours per week
The contract says about 40 hours a week I never did less than 50 hours a week and sometimes a lot more on a week of spread over shifts. Which are out dated working practices in the modern bus industry, Also if you get a 4 day week contract, it doesn't mean you will work 4 days a week and have 3 days off. you will work up to 7 days in a row before you have a day off.
Terrible you could be out from early in the morning to last bus at night then up early again, they don't care about drivers welfare only interested in getting buses on the road
12 hour shifts 5 days over 7, things have improved however they are now working 4 on 3 off
Ok unless you want overtime as they just bang on about budget even for 1 hour. Weekend overtime is a joke time and a bit Saturdays and time and quarter on sundays poor excuse for a massive company.
37 hours, generally with no overtime, just extra hours at standard pay rate.
