What is the interview process like at Stagecoach?

18 answers

  • It’s good and fun

  • Depends on which part of the UK and the depot. Stagecoach London is completely different. 3 hour assessment for PCV holders which includes a 45 minute interview and reading from a script as well as answering different scenario questions. A 1 hour driving assessment on a bus around London plus an enhanced medical and eyesight test if you are successful with the interview and driving assessment.
For non PCV holders, I believe it's the same interview process, some sort of driving assessment around London in a van. If successful, 2-3 months training including 40 hours classroom CPC training. Then maybe 3-4 weeks mentoring and route learning. People underestimate how much training a bus driver requires.

  • Very casual.

  • My interview went extremely well though I hate interviews...many questions on how you would react to certain situations.I think once being a taxi driver and 3.5t/7.5t driver helped with my confidence in the interview. My interview went extremely well and the whole process as been real good.

  • They just lie and lie their only interested in profits your just a money making object to them

  • Very easy to lure you in....the job isn't what they make it out to be

  • Simple 3 stages

  • Very relaxed and calming. After doing afew tests if you pass you go on to the driving lessons. Intense at times but worth it.

  • You first go on a driving assessment in a van if a trainee. Or bus if already passed.
You then do a test on the highway code and a quick maths test.

You go in with management who ask you the normal - what do you know about Stagecoach etc. Why do you wanna work for us

Once you pass you'll have a quick medical and then send off your PCV provisional form and medical pass.

Once this is returned you contact Stagecoach who arrange a start date.

First week is classroom based learning your theory. You take this after 1 week. Then you drive a bus or coach around various bus routes. Then in the 4th week you have your practical where you have 2 attempts.

Once you pass you start route learning with an experienced driver / mentor .
