Well what to say i have worked here for some time, and I was liking it to start off with but after some time things were getting worse that is why I am I am looking for a new job they tell you that it is family-friendly work-life but that is a lie they make your work life hard to get a ruteen as you never no if your on earlys/mids/or lates, and they also make it hard to get a good rest if you use the bus to get to work they don't take that time in to accord for you get rest all the staff that work there are nice.

If you don't have other options...

If you don't have any other options then go for it....at least you get free pass for some family members, and it's paid weekly. 12 hours shifts most of the time, and lots of weekend working

Pros

Bus pass for family members

Cons

Long duty hours, low paid for the responsibility that you have, and most importantly no respect from management

Just a job like any other.

At New Ferry it was the drivers who made the job. I personally worked there when they had a good set of drivers, men & women. The management let the company down. It was always the stick , never the carrot. This was proved time after time when Arriva had vacancies the place emptied and left Stagecoach. I found top management where dismissive and contemptuous of the drivers input to the company.

Pros

Tea machine.

Cons

None.

Stressful

Stressful place and not a lot of help and support. it reminds me of the dark ages 1980s type management not very helpful and like to dish out disciplinary and no positives with good work achieved feels like they are always trying to catch you out instead of pushing you to a brighter future for the company

Pros

Hourly rate

Cons

Long hours

Toxic environment

Toxic work environment. No work/life balance. Management leave you in the dark. Excessively long working days/minimum breaks. Only left 1 star as I can't leave zero. Avoid!

Pros

Some good colleagues

Cons

Toxic work environment

Very secure job plenty of overall

If you love working with the public it's a rewarding job quite a few driver's have been there more than 30 years they do have high staff turnover but that doesn't mean it's a bad job you just need to be a special person

Pros

Free bus travel for you and your partner

Cons

4am starts upto midnight finish

Toxic bullying culture, that Management rely upon to keep you quiet.

If you removed 5 Star reviews of Management, Mentors & Secretaries company would achieve a 1 Star rating. That's why they're always short of drivers.

Pros

They reluctantly offer free travel, on a limited basis and processed slowly.

Cons

Xenophobia. And bad managers pushing buses which are just about running.

Dont work for them

No support managers are trained just to hire then sack you waste of time and ruins your life! Some members of staff just enjoy running lives just avoid

Pros

None!

Cons

Everything the managers dont follow leagle driving hours, and push you to braking point its not worth harming yourself

If you have any respect for yourself you will avoid

If you like... being a string puppet to management/controllers to make themselves look good to their management.Being stressed, having stress related headaches/migraines, sore backs, driving barely legal vehicles/shifts then this is definitely the place you need to be it will give you all that and more.Impossible running times on routes, defective buses you are expected to drive, spoken down to by some controllers, being accused of things when you weren’t even there. When you start you’ll be taught all about the “high” standards stagecoach have upstairs in the training school, as soon as you get downstairs and into the job you quickly realise these standards are nowhere near upheld. Letters about petty things like green road and defect cards threatening you with disciplinary action.I could go on but I would not want to bore anyone.. one of the worst places I have ever had the displeasure of working.

Pros

Pay isn’t to bad if you put the hours in

Cons

Impossible timing on routes, buses that shouldn’t be on the road, management

Was a good job which has been ruined by greedy management......

The company is going nowhere. Strike action in the pipeline over pay at many depots. Empty words of appreciation, when the reality is they don't give a xxxx about staff. The training school has never been busier. Like a revolving door. Can't get them in fast enough because they're leaving quicker than they can recruit them. If you want to be a bus driver give it a go, but I doubt you will stay in the industry for long. A good job which has been ruined by management........

Pros

Good colleagues

Cons

No work/life balance. Long hours. Stressful job.
