On a strick time. Can be stressful when stuck on same route for hours. Don't give much time from pulling into bus station and going out on next the route.
Pros
Some long lunches
Cons
Short and long hours .

Worst job ever. Totally demoralised staff due to Draconian management tactics against the most ridiculous things. I would recommend looking elsewhere for a job. Avoid at your peril! Rotas are a joke you might finish at 1am and then be back in at 10am the same day. Totally detrimental to your health as time goes by and still expected to smile and be happy with it. So many things wrong it's unbelievable.

I worked at stagecoach from 1999 to 2020 at first was a good job for the first 15 years but the last few years was a challenge only because they are only interested in profit and not the work force as long as the busses are running that’s the main thing they don’t care about the ground staff ie drivers or engineers cutting corners all the time not health and safety but always trying to save a penny as for management they don’t have a clue don’t no the industry and no life skills And people skills as they are only kids the top management no what they are doing but the rest I’m not going to comment
Pros
Free bus pass
Cons
Long hours no work life balance

Don't bother, you will be just another brick in the wall. There are so many people leaving all the time and that tells a lot about them. They are also very strict on the driver and lax on the passengers.Management is incompetent enough and rotas get done without you having a say and even if you are on flexible hours they don't always respect that, at least they didn't with me.Had to leave so that I could regain my life back.Keep in mind that with your duties changing all the time, you won't be able to eat/drink on regular basis and you will quickly gain weight. Also the driving seats are horrible and old and your back will be sore all the time.
Pros
Bus pass
Cons
Long hours, incompetence, etc

Not a bad job, could be better if the shifts weren't so long which results in frequent changes of staff. There is overtime if you want to work even longer.Colleauges are usually friendly and you can have a good laugh with them.Management are generally OK and let you get on with the job.I would work there again but on a part time basis.
Pros
Plenty driving and going to places you might otherwise never have been to, Good team spirit amongst fellow drivers.
Cons
The shift system is the only draw back.

I didn't like working at Stagecoach. The management made that place miserable. You had disciplinary actions taken against you for everything. The management had issues even with unstuck shirts, the person responsible for planning drivers rotas, was biased towards some drivers and clearly favouring them over others. That's why some drivers had £300 per week, while others easily could make up to £500.
Pros
Free buspasses, insurance cover provided by Stagecoach
Cons
Uncertainty about everything from complaints to disciplinary actions

The shifts were sometime long and tiring, but mostly a good place to work. They provided all relevant training from learning to drive a bus to route learning, ticket machine, etc.
Pros
Free travel, very supportive / friendly staff

Terrible company. They treat staff like rubbish and take money away from wages, which is legal as it’s in their contract of employment. Good customer service is not on their radar. I now use all the lovely letters from the public as my character reference for other employers.
Pros
Free bus travel
Cons
Long hours

Come to work do your job and you will be looked after. Be the opposite and there's just no point. Great management set up in Cumbernauld. Manager very pro active, door is always open. Massive improvement in the past year or so due to this.
Pros
Good time off on certain rotas.
Cons
Could be paid I higher rate.

Absolutely dreadful company. No respect for employees. Huge staff turnover due to poor management and outdated policies. Dreadful pay for the amount of abuse you take on a daily basis. Rotas and duties change on a weekly basis. If you have a family you will very rarely see them due to the unsociable hours you work. Don't ever get sick as you won't get paid and will be disciplined for it. The others drivers are fantastic despite the very low moral. Always a good laugh with them. But seriously when you're told from day one to join the trade union something is far wrong.
Pros
The banter with other drivers
Cons
Pay, conditions, poor management, awful shift patterns

For a single person bus driving is an amazing job, meeting new people and driving.Unfortunately, the culture of "it's legal" that is endemic within the bus industry, puts paid to having any sort of life. Working shifts isn't bad in its own right, but companies such as Stagecoach and others that force people to work early shifts and late shifts in the same week, (with a day off in-between) makes it difficult to have any kind of life, not only is it the source of many health problems, it's also contributed towards the death of at least 1 person in my experience.Working shifts this way maybe "legal" but it's immoral and unethical.Had the bus industry had the kind of strength of Union that the train industry has, bus drivers would also be working 35 hours a week for £40K a year.
Pros
Driving, meeting people, great co-workers.
Cons
Shifts, Pay.

bus driving is great and love the job. However stagecoach mangemant still think its the 60's talk down to there staff and down right rude. They have poor planning on rosters. Change days off and shifts with little notice. The attitude is if you don't like it leave. Hence why there staff turnover is so high. Most people leave within 2 years.
Pros
Ok paid and nice customers
Cons
management
