A good place to start a career.
Mentoring sessions are put in place in order to envolve in your careers.
Pros
You can have a 30 min lunch so you can come or leave early
Cons
The money isnt good
Not your usual class 2 work. You basically start at 6am. Load your truck and do your circle checks. Set off for your beloved destination. Once there your expected to do around 20 jobs. If your lucky and you get them done. You get congratulated with another couple bonus jobs. It says 40 hrs a week when actually your contract is 46 hrs. 6am to 5.30pm. Some times you might get back later. On the plus side it's only 4 days a week. The money is poor for the amount of work is expected of you. 16- 17 pound and hour, would sound fair for this kind of work.
Pros
4 day week
Cons
Long hours, low pay matching min wage in a couple of years.

Job is easy enough if you don't mind the mess/dirtiness of it. office staff (Including management ) have no interest in staffs welfare or work life. Only care about getting the job done whether this breaks rules or the law on carrying weight & different items. Can start early/finnish early depending on the customers & whether you get given a reasonable route ( sometimes dotted across the country so no chance of competing within a reasonable time) Routes swapped quite often between drivers ( so get moaned at by customers when its not usual time etc and then moaned at by management and other customers when the other driver hasn't done their job correctly and you have to sort it out and clean it up) Massive favouritism when it comes to routes and vehicles. If you moan about stuff enough they won't ask you to do the more awkward jobs, so the same select few get all the stick. Easy job though if you can stick all this
Pros
Flexibility with work hours (kinda), Early start & Early Finnish (dependant on route), relatively easy job
Cons
Long hours, VERY dirty job, Never keep your own vehicle unless your one of the favourites, lack of respect, wants you to break the law to complete the job, get blames for other peoples mistakes, unfair dismissals, poor management & office staff

The job is great if you want a early start and early finish, the lorries are disgusting, other drivers rubbish all over, the lorries have seen better days,if your not in the click, the management don't like you,the management are absolutely useless, the health and safety is none existent, look after yourselfs
Pros
Early start, Early finish
Cons
Management really poor
I really enjoyed working for this company. Unfortunately it was only for maternity cover so had to move on. While I was there I was treated as one of the team and have remained friends with all the girls.
Management very approachable and fair.
Pros
Lots
Cons
Doesn't operate flexi time, fixed start and finish
It is worst company I worked for, as a plant operator you on your feets for 12 hours pushing dirty bins covered with sh#t. The worst part when you start unloading trailers where you will be touching this s#it with a huge chance to grab a dirty needle and get sick. I wish I would know that erlier so I would never start working there.
Terrible place and terrible management
What they tell you to do is not how they want you to do
You can’t win there
They make up the rules as you go along
Paperwork is always wrong even if you do it how they want you to do it
They will pick on you constantly if your face doesn’t fit sand give you a hard life
Too many mini iam managers there shouting down at you
Terrible working conditions they have you unloading wagons of hospital waste bins then u have to push them 50+ meters across a floor that's slanted all different directions and full of big pot holes so its sometimes extremely difficult to get the bins where you want them to go and there not light either you need to push 4+ 100kg bins at one time just so you can keep up with the wagon driver the shifts are soul draining 12 hours at minimum wage
E' stata una bella esperienza, conosciuto nuovi colleghi. Esperienza unica che non dimentichero'. Peccato che il contratto fosse temporaneo.
Pros
Meetings
Cons
Un po' piu' di comprensione per persone che soffrono di stress
All employees are constantly on the phone, there is no room for socialising as we are required to take our lunch breaks at different times.
The open space is always cold and there are no decorations. It's very dull to work there.
Great culture. Fun and diverse place to work. Everyone welcomes you with a tremendous respect. People help you to develop your career. It was my best place since I started my career.
Good laugh and friendly staff, shift patterns are the worst part of the job. Most enjoyable part was probably manning the shredder, your always busy and have something to do .
I was a class 2 driver , I liked the early starts as did mean you could go home early if your lucky, Like I saw in a previous comment, The smell at some of these places is horrific, even more when dead animals have been sitting in a locked, unvented container for a week, That was me out,
Good place to develop more skills. Different campaigns all the time that keep the job very exciting and challenging.
The staff are from all around the world so multi nations which keeps the place very interesting.
To be honest, its not the worst job I've ever had, yeah its dirty and dusty at times with a lot of heavy lifting but generally (at my old depot) were pretty well planned to be back on your hours .
My main problem was the way that management moved heaven and earth to cover up one particular manager's failings, whatever this manager did, no matter how much they screwed up higher management protected them, because this one manager was brought in against a lot of disapproval from the previous upper echelons .
Couldn't fault the lads you work with, all up against it same as me
Your day can start between 0430 and 0800 and can/will change depending on how the manager wants to bend you over. Graft like a dog dragging bags around buildings. Up and down stairs in and out of lifts-if they work.
Should be advertised as labourer / mechanic / mug.
Wagons are old and machinary is over used and under maintained.
Gaffers know who the idol are and leave them alone. Lads that graft get rewarded with more work. There is no interest in yiur welfare as long as the jobs are completed.
Only good thing is they take on new drivers and getting experience getting the wagons in bad side streets.
Lads are good coz everyond is treated with the same contempt
Pros
Get to reveiw all your bad mistakes that led you there
Cons
There isnt enough room in this box
Management is terrible, people seem to get promoted based on if they are liked by the hiring manager, regardless of whether they would be best at the job. No staff moral, high staff turnover due to people being treated so poorly by the managers and team leaders. Stay clear. Customers suffering and unhappy due to the staff not wanting to be there. I saw many staff being reduced to tears during my time there.
Pros
Clean toilets
Cons
Everything else
A fast paced business, reactive and therefore, not for the faint hearted!
Good company culture and offers great development for the right people. I made some of my biggest career developments at this company.
Pros
Free Parking
Cons
Can be long hours
As Class 1 ADR Driver you can make some good money, however the work is ball bustin and they expect their pond of flesh. Its heavy dirty work and your expected out in all weathers. Be prepared to have a strong stomach too as some of the hospital waste is mingin especially in summer when its been sweating in plastic tubs for days on end.
Pros
Money
Cons
Poorly run Transport dept + your face had to fit.
Management are useless
No communication what so ever
Everyone hates the manager
Yard people seem to hate drivers
Office seem to hate drivers
Vans are filthy you wouldn’t even let a pig in them
Your just a number no one appreciates what you do
Pros
Early finishes sometimes
Cons
Pretty much everything
