Not great
Porter (Former Employee) - Stockport, Greater Manchester - 3 April 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedWay to top heavy in staff with no way near enough people to be hands on with the jobs. Atmosphere isn’t the best and can be a lot of unprofessionalism.

Horrible place to work.
Pharmacy Support Worker (Former Employee) - Stockport - 25 July 2023
The inpatient pharmacy at stepping Hill is the worst job I've ever worked in. The atmosphere is clicky and hostile when you challenge things. People are so stressed that they snap at the lightest of things. Management was poor aside from two good people trying their best. Doing the work of 3 people for less than 20k do not work here!
Pros
Some friendly people.
Cons
Low wages, poor management.

Great opportunities and friendly team
Nurse (Current Employee) - Stockport, Greater Manchester - 7 June 2023
Small hospital with a close knit team. Although NHS work can be challenging, the Trust seems to value its staff and people are generally happy and supportive

Varied workload, great team and always have a laugh at some point in the day
EBME Contracts Administrator (Current Employee) - Stockport - 5 April 2023
The EBME team is constantly growing, mainly young workforce whose strengths are working as a team, helping each other and training on equipment frequently. Our Team lifts spirits - we often have lunch together and our Manager supports his staff and welcomes ideas from all the team
Pros
Very friendly and helpful workforce
Cons
Parking is a pain

Okay but not much free time and stressful
Biomedical Scientist (Former Employee) - Stockport - 26 January 2023
Very busy and sometimes stressful, especially when you are doing 2+ people's workload. Too much tasks on checklist/worklist out of hours, lone working most of the time. Although you are on shifts, you don't have as much rest days and free time in-between and overall. Shifts are long. Most of all- the IT systems and buildings are outdated. A few incidents and errors resulted from the use of paper logs. Limited working space.
Pros
Good wage
Cons
long hours, extremely tiring, too much to do at once from one person

Terrible place to work. Bullying mentality is really bad.
Assistant Practitioner (Former Employee) - Stockport - 9 October 2022
No scope to improve. Made to feel completely undervalued and humiliated. No interest in you as a person and not interested in your problems. Terrible place to work.

Overworked and underpaid
IM&T (Former Employee) - Stepping Hill, Greater Manchester - 2 October 2022
Very stressful, very understaffed, bad management paid less than peers at other trusts. Not much opportunity for progression, expected to take on workload above your pay station without any remuneration

Jobs at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust
Got me by the short and curlies!
Maintenance shift craftworker (Current Employee) - Stockport - 21 July 2022
in my particular role, I/we are not included in team briefs, communications or decisions made by/for the department. we have NO work life balance, we have suggested Proven ammendments to the current working shift pattern to tie in with other departments within the trust, yet because the head of department doesn't want to make the changes we can not even trial it. Think long and hard before applying for a position with this emoyer!

Not really fun
Staff Nurse (Former Employee) - Stepping Hill, Greater Manchester - 24 March 2022

The NHS is over rated.
Staff Nurse (Former Employee) - Medicine - 31 December 2021
Worked as a Registered Nurse. Regular poor staffing levels and shortage of good staff. Senior Nurse Matrons always ready for good social media friendly photo opportunities to show how 'kind' and 'supportive' they are. Top heavy with narcissists.
Pros
Some excellent friendly and hard working health care assistants and staff nurses.
Cons
Staff shortages resulting in no proper breaks, Staff shortages resulting in staying behind to finish off paperwork, Senior nurses then suggest this is due to poor time management, Not easy to time manage when doing double workloads

This department (ECG) was a depressing environment
Clerical Officer (Former Employee) - ECG - 3 June 2021
I worked at SHH 3 times ECG worst dept EVER for the last 3 years. Micro managed. Management in medicine had bullying attitudes. I personally received No support. Management support the staff who want to stay on the sick the longest. Loved my role but worked with a lot of lazy staff members who either didnt pull their weight or were constantly on the sick. However there are a few good workers within the department that have worked there many years and are not appreciated by the management.
Pros
no
Cons
changed hours of shifts 5 mins notice by my manager

Micromanaging managers
Junior Manager (Former Employee) - Stepping Hill, Greater Manchester - 28 February 2021
There are some great, dedicated, hard-working people here. I believe the service users are well cared for. Some of the management is rotten to the core. A culture of micromanaging and humiliating people seems to be acceptable. The bully and their sycophants is a working model. The senior management need to look into this.
Pros
If you're lucky you might get some good co-workers
Cons
Long hours. Run down buildings.

Good if management support you
Can be very very busy , not always time to get support and learning new skills can be challenging due to work load, hopefully improvements can be made when covid rates drop .
Pros
Friendly staff
Cons
Busy all the time
