Just keep your eyes open

If you Report any concerns it get swept under the carpet.If your face fits your all OK.Manager very convincing on all levels.No support from the manager or support office, happy to go home knowing the team are struggling to provide adequate care.Massive turn over of staff.Just be careful if choosing to work here, all as is not as it reads on paper.


Building environment is of good standard being purpose built.


Staffing levels poor, no support, lots of cover ups.

think very carefully

Poor current home manager. Stresses all staff the wrong way, has way too much autonomy, there's an inner clique. If your not in, it makes your work very hard to due to favoritism. No praise, appreciation or job security. No feedback good or bad. You can be dismissed without warning or good reason.. No respect of you being a person. You are disposable. I loved my job but sadly expectations became quite unreasonable given the time you have. I DID think working there was good overall, sadly now, my opinion has changed. The staff colleagues were a delight, fun and supportive. Training was excellent. You do not ever question given tasks, or life becomes very unpleasant very quickly .

Positive environment

I've worked in one of Brixham care homes for several years as a senior care assistant and it is a lovely home. The residents are well cared for, treated with respect and dignity. It has been a challenging couple years with covid pandemic but we have done so well in our home, we have kept our residents safe. New manager has joined us at the beginning of this year and has done an amazing job with changes inside the building, staff have been very positive about it and owerall it is a very positive and happy place.. We do our best for our residents with the support of the manager

Lovely and caring ❤️

It's a blessing work of role to do , help the needy , the owners are very supportive thru management and kind . Friendly helpful team where am working.. manager is very supportive and understanding and experienced... compassion and joy is involved in this job .so ul have fun.


Benefits.kind management.flexability.awards.partys .paid training, swab payed.


Walk ing around alot.bells rings some of the time .from rooms of residents.not much sitting down, .noisy at times with the television or bells or resident .

Absolutely awful Company to work for

Awful place to work staff are two faced do not helpHave to hoist by your self no help at all, not allowed to phone the ambulance if there is problems told to give paracetamol, residents just left in there room all residents have to be in bed before night staff start they have no choice all choice is took away from the residents, beautiful building and grounds poor management and huge staff turnover place need cqc inspection

Everything I do at my work place was included in my interview

Been with company nearly 15 years ,and have enjoyed every minute . Manager and Deputy manager are both excellent . Hours are to suite your own preference working around children .all staff work with each other and we have a great sense of humour and are definitely a great team with each other and especially with the residents


Further career and promotion with support of manager /and deputy

The number of years say it all

I have worked for the family run business for 12 years. From the moment they offered me a managment job, they have been supportive. The job nowadays, especially with the current climate is not always easy. However the owners and their team are hands on and very supportive. I like to think this experience is passed down to all that work in the home I run. CONS It is long hours and weekends I am still ensuring all is safe at the home but that is the role of a manager I want the best so ensure I set an example and try and give my best I think the wage is representative down here but know that there are other parts of the country that pay a lot more that might be a downfall for the company when recruiting new management.

Enjoyable and positive

I enjoy working at the home. I am being encouraged to further my training and i know if i need help with any aspect of my job, there is someone who can help me. The most enjoyable part is spending time with the residents and making a difference to their day. I have learnt so much about working with residents who have dementia and have actually learnt alot about myself! I am challenged daily within the job, but in a positive way.

Poor management

When I worked at The Manor the residents were well cared for but the manager was having a relationship with a senior carer. When she found that people knew we were pulled in by the deputy manager and put on supervision and accused of gossip. should have spoken to her. The senior involved spent hours in the office instead of doing his job due to the relationship.

Productive company and very good team overall

I worked at the support office at Stonehaven for almost 4 years and I am glad to say that it is a very good company to work for. The reason I left the company was for a relocation abroad.

Not nice company to work for

Loved the residents and the home but poorly run by manager staff raised many concerns with company but didn't want to no, many staff left as not being listened to our concerns then we got banned of the premises and banned from seeing the residents which was very sad as we promised to visit so they must of thought we forgot them the care home is all about show and not solving issues that are going on behind the home no support from the company always back manager if though making many mistakes so my opinion not a nice company to work for

Would not recommend the lilacs to anyone

Poor management don’t look after staff manager only listens to what she wants to hear wages are terrible for the amount they expect always felt under pressure and when someone passes dignity is not always thought about

Very busy company always full accommodation but not always fully staffed very keen to train all staff clients are lovely to look after manager could be a little more organised

working at stonehaven

lovely care home to work in and close to the beach, relaxed caring enviroment and lots going on. nice group of staff, a all round awarding job role. nice shorter shifts so not long 12 hours like most care homes

company not supportive

having worked for this company as a care Home Manager for a short period i found them to be unsupportive and unrealistic with regards to staff moral and development. Although the company offered a competive salary for managment this was out ruled by the inability to listen to key factors relating to the well being of new employees with no consideration given to points raised owing to whistleblowing or grievances other than to dismiss staff who had the confidence to speak up when things were not acceptable




no room for 2 way communication, huge staff turnover
