Worked with stork on and off for the past 8+ years, 1 thing that let's stork down slightly is Job security although job security cant be guaranteed due to the nature of employment it seems that they only see employees as numbers and not valued the way they should be,
Pros
Excellent work/life balance, good salary
Cons
Lack of job security
Very Negative, Blame Culture, clique some bullying tactics. Nothing is ever good enough. Untrustworthy management, no development. Do not promote within the company, no new training provided. Overall very Negative experience
Pros
Flex Friday
Cons
No work life balance, always expected more, very Negative culture and blame culture
This company was the worst company I’ve ever worked for, too many managers with different agendas and don’t have a clue what’s happening on the shop floor. Training is none existent for new starters, you’ll be cutting cables for your entire work life.
Pros
Half day on Friday
Cons
Too many to list
A typical day at work would be to attend daily planning meetings, organise the staff and prepare target cost assessments for clients.
I found the hardest part of the job was to make staff redundant at the end of contracts, but I kept in contact with them and had the pleasure of offering work on new contracts when awarded.
I learnt management skills and the importance of being a team player
Safety was always the No 1 priority, and always keep the clients requirements to the forefront of the business.
I feel if you have a good team then any where is a good place to work.
I like the challenge and diversity and training opportunity.
The culture can be a bit unfair especially dealing with difficult co workers which can effect the whole dynamic of the team.
I feel as long as you are supported have good leadership opportunity and can trust and rely on your team mates it is a very good experience.
They do have excellent teams and welfare is always going above and beyond to make it a great place to work and be cared for to take your mind off being offshore as it can be difficult when you first start getting used to being away from home and missing events such a Christmas special birthdays ect
I enjoyed working at Stork and was there for a number of years. I would go back and work for the but only if their rate was increased as I was able to earn more working elsewhere.
Phone call interview, easy travel offshore. Nice company.
HR dept is extremely good and well skilled. Answer all your questions and concerns, and are always willing to help out.
working for Stork was both enjoyable and rewarding. the management made regular visits offshore and tried with there limited time slots to hold a mass meeting with all workers and have a Q&A meeting where possible
I will apply to stork this year hopefully getting a permanent job. Great company to work for.I learned a lot in my first year offshore working for stork and met some great people.
Excellent company with great opportunities. Would highly recommend. Great benefits, including flexible working and 1.30pm finishes on Fridays. My job is fast paced and reactive as with most service companies.
Fast paced and busy environment which from time to time got too much with unrealistic expectations set
The more you did over and above, the more you were expected to do with little recognition
Ok company to work for but been finished over 3 weeks now and still waiting for holiday pay ... emailed payroll twice with no reply and left messages on answer service and again no reply
Very clicky place nepotism is rife and need to be careful who you talk too.
Not always is the guy that works hard and correctly is the guy that gets kept.
Need a lower level management overhaul
To move things into modern day great to work for then changed since RBG great staff but need overhaul put real people
In place
If your postcode and last name match with their requirements and you are ready to feel a challenging work environment, this is your company. Managers promote confrontation and back stabbing between work colleagues.
Not very good at man management.you get home one day from offshore then they phone you after a day or 2 to go back offshore when you are supposed to have your either 2 or 3 weeks leave. In my opinion DONT work for them , and there is always a battle to get your expenseses for doing courses in your time off.
Pros
Absolutely None
Cons
Everything I have told you above
Pleasure to have worked with the crew and Company. Safety with Stork was Paramount on every aspect of your Work. Amenities for your leisure and laundry food were excellent.
Pros
Great
Cons
Normal for Offshore
A highly motivated and well qualified QC Welding / NDT Inspector with over 12 years’ experience in the oil and gas / renewables industry from working in both the onshore and offshore industry and associated areas
Found when working for Stork I always seemed to get a good run on a platform I think mainly due to my work ethic, attitude and housekeeping standards. Mainly found the Management to be helpful regardless of the platform I was on.
Pros
Good money, regular work.
Cons
Long drives and long flights.
My time at Stork was beneficial to myself as I gained a lot of experience in the oil and gas industry. I was lucky enough to move up from an elec tech to electrical foreman.
