STRIDE (Supported Training & Rehabilitation in Diverse Environments) is a non-profit, charitable, community based vocational rehabilitation program founded in 1983. STRIDE is the only Halton, Ontario - based organization whose primary purpose is to serve the employment needs of individuals facing mental health and addiction issues.

Services include:

- Employment Connections offers a variety of job readiness services to individuals who are dealing with mental health issues and are ready to either develop their careers in new areas or to return to a field in which they have had previous experience.

- Worksite Training Program sites are located in North Halton (Acton) and South Halton (Oakville). At these facilities, individuals develop their work skills in an environment which closely reflects what they will experience in a competitive workplace. While participating in the training program, individuals build their work strengths and employment potential through the development of employment goals and practical work experiences while working in a supportive environment.

Through the acquisition of contracts with companies and other agencies to provide packaging, assembly, labeling, encoding, sorting, collating, and shrink-wrapping services, we provide a realistic work environment for individuals to re-establish work and social skills to support re-entry into the competitive workplace. Individuals also receive training in the use of equipment such as tow motors, shrink-wrap machines, encoders and heat sealers.

- Youth Employment Program offers a variety of job readiness services to individuals between 16-24 years of age who are experiencing mental health issues and/or substance issues and who are ready to start looking at their employment plans and options.

- Employment Peer Mentor Program - Employment Peer Mentors are persons with lived experience with mental health and/or addictions issues who are in recovery. Employment Peer Mentors (EPMs) draw from their experiential knowledge to inspire hope and empower others in similar situations, by providing social and emotional support in order to assist their peers on the path of recovery.

An alternative curriculum provider for students unable to access mainstream education. Provided quality vocational courses and functional skills. Students progressed onto college or apprenticeships.
