Try and get to know staff on a personal level to know how much each individual helps and contributes to avoid bias and unfair decisions when it comes to disciplining and dismissing staff. I have seen many people leave and I feel a lot of it is based on favoritism rather than work ethic.
Increase the wage
Actually speak to the staff. Don't just treat them like numbers. Better training and letting people actually have their days off as opposed to asking them to come in when they're due off. Also better flexibility around students as they may have different timetables each semester or may have exams.
Stop treating the staff like rubbish and peices of rubbish on the floor
Staff will work well if management are hands on, make time for employees & and don't just base everything on figures. I've been a operations manager for 10 years and I'm a firm believer that hands on management if for better than sitting on a screen all day. And staff really look up to you. So take these words of wisdom as a bounus to all subways in the uk
Talk to people like humans!
Improve the wages
