Great place to work
Sales Associate (Former Employee) - Gatwick Airport - North Terminal - 18 May 2023
Working at Sunglass Hut I’m Gatwick Airport in 2022 to 2023 was great. The managers were good and the staff actually cared about their employees whether they were higher or lower end staff. Quite good pay however even though hours are flexible they can still get quite long as well but overall I felt good working for this company.
Pros
Good pay, caring staff all round and flexible hours
Cons
Hours can get long

Could be fun
Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - Kingston upon Thames, Greater London - 25 March 2023
Could be a fun place to work, in summer it was definitely better because of how busy it was and in winter it was so so slow that you’d wanna pull your hair out. But you might like that. There’s issues like management and the thefts that we always get blamed for but all in all it was okay .

Fast Paced
Sales Associate (Current Employee) - United Kingdom - 29 December 2022
Hours depends on your location. Some stores have later opening hours due to being in a shopping centres. All training provided on job. Sometimes can be very stressful due to being short staffed during busy periods and serving customers while looking out for thefts.
Pros
Free Glasses
Cons
Erratic Hours

Great Team and Fun Environment
Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - Reading, Berkshire - 3 November 2022
Working at Sunglass Hut Reading, I had the best summer of my life. In terms of having schedules done and having days off, making sure the days I couldn’t do I had holiday… everything was perfect. The pay is fair and the team are amazing.

Fun workplace
Supervisor (Former Employee) - London - 18 February 2020
During the summer its very fun, fast pace but during the winter very slow. daily duties are serving customers if its quiet you would continue your product knowledge training an online website or cleaning.

Would only work in Cheltenham branch
Sales Associate (Former Employee) - Cheltenham - 23 October 2019
I worked in the Cheltenham branch and honestly would not have stayed there for as long as I did if not for the amazing family I had in this store. The company say they have great incentives but honestly there were only 2 running in the year that I worked there. One which they have over Christmas, you don’t even start getting prizes until the summer. Individual store runnings are fab but as a company, not amazing.

Can be a fun workplace
Supervisor (Current Employee) - Southampton - 15 August 2019
It can be really good fun, and if you are lucky enough to have a good team, the day should pass quickly!
Have learnt a lot about style combined with customers' taste and expectations.

Best experience
Senior Sales Advisor (Current Employee) - Heathrow, Greater London - 14 May 2019
This job has taught me many things and given me all the experience required in order to be able to work in any retail store out there. I have done things such as cashing up, making sure stock is leveled, closing and opening the store but most importantly carrying outstanding customer service as well as striving for better, even if I feel I'm at my best.

Fun job
Sales Associate (Former Employee) - Gatwick Airport Station, West Sussex - 14 April 2019
occasionally strict management, but sometimes really lovely. its a fun job if you get on with everyone - you've got to be sociable. Pay is rubbish but you do get commission which can work out well if you work in the mornings. expect to be tired all the time. sometimes lenient if you ask to switch shifts and work certain times but only in advance. overall, can be fun.
Pros
commission
Cons
rubbish hours, rubbish pay.

Mediocre
Customer associate (Current Employee) - Luton - 22 February 2018
The main issue is the lack of organisation from management, being understaffed and the hours due to being an airport. there is no typical day as each day.
