Sales Assistant (Former Employee) - Bridgend, Bridgend - 30 August 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedUsed to get great commission and incentives. Now only get 1% on sales 3% if everyone meets targets. No incentives now. Lone working from 6-8pm sometimes 4-8pm. As a store and other members of staff its' a great place to work.

An interesting place to work where you are provided with merchandising and brand training.
Hours could be a challenge however that is part of Airport Life.

Overthought, poor management style
Sunglass Sales Person, David Clulow/John Lewis (Current Employee) - Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire - 1 May 2017
The job was advertised as a retail role, however is more based in sales and trying to push products onto customers. Manager is also regional trainer and is therefore nearly never in store, has more of a stick than carrot management style, and is very deceiving. Way too much training involved for simple tasks, hours not set with little or no notice given to change of rotas. No holiday allowed during june and july.
Pros
good incentive opportunities, youthful staff
Cons
poor management, no holiday allowed over summer, no set hours

No growing plaxe
Sales Assistant (Current Employee) - London, Greater London - 21 April 2017
I'm working since 5 month in sunglass hut Peter jones.
Since I've started there was no supervisor and no assistant manager, only my manager. So for all these months I've done a lot of supervisor's work but at the end sho took a new girl as supervisor because she told that I'm too young.

Senior Sales Assistant/Supervisor (Former Employee) - Milton Keynes - 25 February 2017
Having worked in optics before I was poached by the manager to come and work for her as she needed someone who was more experienced in retail to be her second in charge. I enjoyed every minute working there dealing with different customers every day dealing with their specific need whether prescription sunglasses or something casual and designer or something more practical
Pros
Great team
Cons
No respect from senior management

Fun and efficient workplace
Sale associate (Former Employee) - London, ENG - 16 November 2015
Basically I started off counting frames if I was in a early shift and polishing frames to make sure everything looks perfect, also when customers come, I provide helps showing them all the features of the frame and sell.
What I learnt is the art of selling also the brandies of different brands selling in the store, knowing how to repair or adjust the frames for customers, also in team working.
The atmosphere in the work is really vivid and funny. For me the most difficult part in the job would be meeting target in a tough day which is really stressful and driven me too tight, but in the other way, it can be a motivation for me; the most enjoyable part must be the trying on! We can try frames on and seeing the shapes or lens, this helps me learning how does the frame effecting the whole look and it is really fun.
Pros
good salary, free pair after probation

Enjoyable and rewarding role
Sales Associate (Current Employee) - Bath, ENG - 6 November 2015
Enjoyable workplace with great management team. Small team in the Bath Store meaning that progression is limited. I have learnt a lot about the company and retail as a business, which I feel is applicable to many other jobs. Role can occasionally get monotonous as selling sunglasses is a very seasonal job - very quiet in winter months. Hardest part of the role is not having enough work to do within store and for the company. Most enjoyable part of the role is the staff and team that I work with, we have all become great friends as well as colleagues.

Great part time job with friendly work force
Retail Assistant (Current Employee) - East Midlands Designer Outlet - 2 September 2015
On a full day working at Sunglass Hut opening up would be the initial starter for the day. This involves frame count, starting up the till and making sure the store is tidy and clean. Once all these tasks have been completed interacting with customers is the focus from then on. My co-workers are fun and friendly and I would consider us a close knit team. The hardest part of the job is when it isn't busy, if this is the circumstance then as a member of the team I use my initiative and create jobs to do such as visual merchandising and organising stock. The most enjoyable part of this job is interacting with customers and diving into the world of sales.

Creative, Imaginative & Exciting
Ecommerce Manager (Current Employee) - United Kingdom - 11 March 2014
I have proven track record for growing the online business in the UK and have achieved double digit comps and an online business growth in the UK work. I have managed to work closely with the brand, its product management team and cross functional areas (merchandising, technology, creative, marketing, project management office), to drive and manage the existing site experience.
