Fun work place. Family atmosphere. All staff from all departments are friendly to each other. Staff are reliable and helpful. Management is OK too. Good holiday period.

I have worked at sunrise for many years I used to love working in there its a very friendly environment, the staff and residents are lovely, Some residents can be highly demanding. sunrise is a luxury home. So you are expected to perform with higher standards.

Pay was not good and not very flexible shifts for single parents. More staff need to be on at night shift as it can be demanding depending what happens

Good team sprites however long hours. 12 hour shifts and hardly no breaks, bad work life balance. Poor management and broken equipment. Looks good from the outside but the grass isn’t always greener, however if the Carers do care they can provide a great service. Understaffed and bad rota’s Sometimes being put down to work without being asked, great food services for the residents, amazing chef team. A lot of very tired Carers trying to do their best with what they are given, some care more then others but that’s the same in any job. Confusing dress code, calls for modesty but requires us to wear tight fitted tunic with loose buttons. Sometimes staff isolation based on nationality.
Pros
Free lunches, free uniform
Cons
Long hours, understaffed and groups.

No respect for the employers. We helped them having exelente results on CQC and after they've done a meeting saying we are a s#@t basically. Payment it's bad the same as work in MacDonalds. Rules always changing constantly. Aggressive residents!!! New colleagueas without experience always coming and leaving. Short staff!
Pros
Some nice people working
Cons
Everything mentioned

-Assisting the residents in their personal care is the first priority. -Assisting them in their activities of daily living. -Maintaining their independence and privacy and dignity. -Life is so short that you never know what will happen next. Value everyone you love. -Be considerate and open minded and patient when working with vulnerable adults or individuals. -Team player. Never leave a co-worker by his/her own if you see her/him struggling with the work. Try to help out and explain the proper things to do. -Seeing the residents suffering from their conditions and seeing them passed away without anybody from the family. -Seeing them happy and jolly and chatty with their families, seeing them remembering the things they used to do before or telling the story of their lives and hearing them saying thank you even for a little things you did for them is priceless.
Pros
free lunch, snacks and dinner
Cons
long travel to work
