Why is SureCare Oxfordshire different to other Care Agencies?

Our team knows what it takes to deliver excellent care and we train our staff to do their job safely and well. We want you to have the skills and confidence to be brilliant and you won’t be left alone to work until you are happy with what you are being asked to do. By giving you the experience and self assurance that you are ready to work we know this gives our Service Users’ the best outcomes. We do not offer 15 minute care calls. We don’t think you can deliver good care in that amount of time. For our shortest half hour visits, we will only be doing a quick medication check. We firmly believe that you need a decent amount of time to make a difference and we do not want our Care Workers to rush their calls. We want you to be able to complete your duties with enough time to be able to have a chat too. We also offer real qualifications. You don’t need any relevant certificates to join us, we will teach you all you need to know. You will be fully trained and prepared for your position and you will gain your Care Certificate too, this is a nationally recognised qualification that you can add to your CV. We also pay for people’s NVQs/QCFs and would love to know what other passions in healthcare you have so we can support you to learn more. We routinely have a District Nurse visit us to teach transferable skills such is our belief in continuous learning. As part of our SureCare Oxfordshire team you will be provided with: - Pay which is higher than the Oxford Living Wage and National Living Wage - Double time on Bank Holidays - Constant support and Training - Annual national awards ceremony - Paid holiday - Personal Pension - Permanent £100 recommend a friend scheme - Guaranteed hours contracts - Full, extensive and on going training -so previous experience is not essential - Mentoring system in place and 24 hour support and advice - You will benefit from a flexible working pattern (all shift patterns required, inc mornings, evenings and weekends - full and part time) - Encouragement throughout, for career progression in our ever-growing team - Personal professional development including access to fully funded diploma (NVQ/QCF) qualifications - Free uniform and personal protective equipment

Who Is SureCare Oxfordshire

We are a service that delivers care in people’s own homes around Oxford and Abingdon. At the heart of the business are our brilliant team of Care Workers who come from a range of backgrounds. A career in care is incredibly rewarding and at SureCare Oxfordshire we invest heavily in our staff and alongside our drive to provide outstanding care to our Service Users, we want our employees to be happy in their work too. This is why we have recruited an experienced and enthusiastic office team to support our Care Workers. We are a family run business. Our Care Workers are at the heart of our business and they are all valued and respected. This means we are building a loyal and dedicated foundation and we are all prepared to muck in. We have chosen our management team for their values and team-work on top of their vast knowledge and experience. Owning the business means we have the ability to make quick decisions and be adaptable with rewarding our staff. With plenty of career development opportunities available, joining SureCare Oxfordshire will allow you to pursue personal and professional goals in this highly rewarding sector. We also aim to be as flexible as possible and understand that family life is important to you too. We are fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission and in September 2019 were rated as ‘Good’. All of our recruits are subjected to enhanced DBS clearance and verified reference checks. This way, we can be sure that our Service Users receive the best quality care from the right people for the job. Our Care Workers are very special people. We don’t hire everyone who applies as we only want the best, most reliable and compassionate people to wear our uniform. We are an equal opportunity employer and we do not discriminate on the basis of race, colour, gender, religion, age, sexual orientation, national or ethnic origin, disability, marital status, veteran status or any other occupationally irrelevant criteria.

Why Care?

One of the biggest benefits of working in home care is the diversity it will bring to your day. Every day is different. You will be meeting people in their own home’s, meeting new people and do different tasks as part of your daily routine. No day is the same and there’s no gazing out of an office window wondering when home time is! There is never a dull moment and you will get to spend time with people from all walks of life and learn more about the community you live in and it’s a privilege to be asked to help our most vulnerable members’ of society. Every day you will be fulfilled by helping someone in need and making them safer and making their life easier. Knowing you might be the only person they see that day will give you a real sense of purpose and achievement that’s difficult to match in any other role. By working as a Care Worker, you will be enabling people to stay independent and live their life how they want to. Care Work offers unrivalled long-term employment prospects with the opportunity for promotion and progression and job security. Adult social care is one of the few sectors where jobs are increasing. There are currently 1.6 million jobs in adult social care, and by 2035 we estimate that we’ll need enough people to fill an additional 650,000 – that’s a lot of jobs, and it’s only getting bigger!

Who Makes A Good Care Worker?

We have people from all backgrounds working for SureCare Oxfordshire, some had never worked in care before, others had elsewhere but decided to change agencies and work with us. We have Mums and Dads working for us around their family life as well as Grannies and Grandads! We have former shop and factory workers as well as people who’ve worked in education or done admin roles. Some people have worked on building sites and others have previously cared for family members before deciding to do it professionally - they all have one thing in common though and that’s that they want to work locally and help people. You do not need any qualifications or experience, but you do need to be organised, conscientious and reliable. You should also want to treat people with dignity and respect and be committed to providing quality care and to give someone a better quality of life.
