Pro's & Cons
LGV C+E Driver (Former Employee) - Lockerbie - 7 January 2022
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedNew driver - no experience and not sure what to expect. Quite literally thrown in at deep-end induction was poor any management follow-up only seems to happen when something goes wrong. No information provided about delivery points and the different processes required. The experienced drivers are really good at helping out if they can. Lockerbie is poor and it seems much better at other depots. Lockerbie very much us and them - seems quite chaotic at times and unorganised with no ownership taken or checks made or clear instruction/guidance given. The yard is poorly maintained particularly during the day, vehicles are largely unclean and unkempt with defects not being attended to when reported. However the variety of work is good if you want it to be and you are left alone when you are away from the yard.
Pros
Good for new drivers if you are ok about asking for help, Experienced drivers are good at giving information, Depots other than Lockerbie, Variety of work.
Cons
No ownership of anything that needs sorted, Management posted missing most of the time, Them and us culture at Lockerbie, Salary not competitive

Hard work-good money
Milk Tanker Driver (Former Employee) - Charlton adam - 16 January 2022
Helpful drivers regarding routes and farm locations. Plenty of time training on routes if required. Approachable office and management. Long days and rural driving but you are compensated as decent money. All hours paid including ot and breaks. Wages never wrong. Nice shift pattern
Pros
Wages always penny accurate. Drivers and office know their stuff, happy to show you until you find your feet
Cons
Long hours, the job has to be covered regardless (nothing illegal, you will get paid the ot)

Anonymous (Current Employee) - Somerton - 26 April 2019
Ideal job for anyone looking for a good salary.
Ex farm collection night drivers are currently on a basic 35,000
Rotas are 5 on 3 off so options for Extra shift working and still maintaining drivers hours legislation.
Shame the customer involve themselves in the hiring of staff, very much a face that fits situation, dont disagree with the customer or your out of work that day.
Nivens will show support, however, will back down to show you the door as soon as they can.
