Not for everyone
Inbound Customer Service Advisor (Former Employee) - Warrington, Cheshire - 18 August 2022
this job isn’t for everyone. Pay is good, but be prepared to be stressed. You go through training what will help you but you learn more once on the phone. It’s back-to-back from 9-5 you’re none stop on the phone. You get monitored on everything… how long you’re on a call for… how long you have a customer on hold… how long it takes you from ending one call to answering the next. They promote ‘ progression’ but there isn’t anything. “No target no pressure” - yes they’re personal targets your pay isn’t affected BUT pressure… you will receive at least 2 emails an hour about low sales. You’re 5 minutes late you have to owe that back but you stay 30mis late you can’t take that back due to “high call volume “ Your quarterly bounce isn’t 100% literally anything can affect it.

Stressful, completely stat driven and not worth it.
Call Agent (Former Employee) - Warrington, Cheshire - 1 July 2022
The job itself isn’t bad, it’s nice when you can help customers and the job isn’t exactly stressful in itself. It’s obviously stressful at the moment with the price increase but that can be something you can try and deal with. But the way the managers are stat driven and how it works in terms of being micromanaged makes it stressful. And there’s not a lot of support sometimes when it comes to abusive calls. Some managers, especially coaches, are great but some of them really fall short. You want to help people but you’re told constantly you only have a certain amount of time to do this or you’re told you’re not doing enough. Constant emails telling you about your stats when you’re already on very stressful calls with the current climate. The company and clients seems to care more about stats and profit over their actual customers and employees. Most employees are stressed and burnt out, due to the nature of the calls which are obviously upsetting, but it’s made worse by how management micromanage and always make you feel like you’re not doing good enough. You barely get much time to compose yourself after each call (only 30 seconds) even if you’ve had a particularly stressful/upsetting call. It’s somewhat good money and there’s good bonuses but makes you wonder if it’s really worth it with the stress that comes on with it.

Can't stress enough, YOU WILL HATE IT!!!
Call Handler (Current Employee) - Warr - 1 July 2022
You represent ScottishPower and with the market how it is the customers give you the worst time!! They shout, belittle you and far worse, your mental health will be so bad joining here to the point you need to quit to get better. All management care about is stats and you get emailed about them every hour with nasty comments if you're not hitting them. They've changed the layout and basically got rid of all progression so you'll be stuck taking calls of terrible customers. I can't stress enough how much you need to know about the job to do it properly. Honestly would rather struggle with no job rather than work here anymore. Really consider about working here and how bad you need this job, if you're already struggling mentally then I promise this is not for you. Most of your training group will drop out so you won't make many friends. You do not get paid enough for the abuse that you receive. Also there's planning that you have to tell every bowel movement about if not on break and any time spent after your shift you wont get paid, you get the time to then leave early but always get denied so you just work for free which is not right. Take this job at your own risk.

Cons
Terrible calls, bad management, no progression

Stressful place and poor management
Inbound Customer Advisor (Former Employee) - Warrington - 30 June 2022
The management at this company is completely poor, the training wasn’t good too. You have 4 weeks lesson just theory and the practical you need to learn by yourself. The manager is completely rude with you. It wasn’t a good experience. It take too long to pay your salary and it was very stressful environment.

Appalling,stressful and overly process driven
Customer Service Advisor (Former Employee) - Warrington, Cheshire - 25 June 2022
I would not recommend working for this company. The main area that is of concern is the management team. A group of individuals who care for nothing but satisfying the client’s processes and demands. As a business model ( TCS is paid for the number of customer calls handled within a given time frame,1000secs max) this is completely outmoded. The individual’s welfare is meaningless. Management are so blinded by process delivery that negativity is the norm.If you care about delivering good customer service and doing the best for the customer without hindrance , this is NOT the place for you!

Awful workplace
Customer Service Advisor (Former Employee) - Warrington - 6 May 2022
Workplace that makes you feel worthless. People are moved around without any consideration or heads up. No work/ home life balance. Management seems to have given up.

Awful
Customer Service Advisor (Former Employee) - Warrington - 15 April 2022
DONT work here avoid at all costs. Management are very insensitive and don’t care for you at all unless it’s about the company. Job gets you down massively. Office is a horrible environment like being in high school with the amount of gossip and drama. Customers are horrible and you have unreachable targets for sales and calls which the managers get on your back for if you don’t reach. Overall just don’t work here unless you want to hate your job and be down about coming to work each day.

Pressure, patronising managers, on your back all the time
Customer Service Advisor (Current Employee) - Warrington, Cheshire - 22 March 2022
Would not recommend. Not what I signed up for. Longer hours than stated. Depressing dark office. Okay for a short term job to fill a gap etc but never long term

Good for learning but bad for progression
DevOps Engineer (Current Employee) - London - 14 February 2022
Employee assessment is poor as managers act like boss and don't value employees. No skip level escalation to report employee issues. Employee doesn't have much voice.

Salary increment is very minimal and your growth depends on your manager. Even you work for longer hrs , but still you will be hardly be given recognition.

Worst place I’ve ever worked
Inbound Customer Service Advisor (Former Employee) - Warrington, Cheshire - 26 November 2021
Started this job in 2020 after leaving my job looking for full time work. I thought that this would be a somewhat decent place to work but it was far from it. You’re taking calls back to back with no time in between. This would be fine if the customers you were getting were somewhat nice but 80% of the customer are shouting at you. Not enough pay for what you actually deal with. Managers are constantly monitoring you and telling you what you’re doing wrong with no praise. Even though it says it’s a customer service job, it may as well be a sales one because that’s all the managers care about. You’re set targets for sales on boiler and appliance cover which are unrealistic considering most customers are wanting to leave Scottish power. Avoid at all costs. The fact that there are 10+ jobs going on here just says it all really everyone leaves before their gradbay finishes because the job is falsely advertised.
Pros
On-site canteen. Full time hours. Bonus.
Cons
Managers. The company in general.

Stressful work culture
Assistant Manager (Former Employee) - London, Greater London - 16 November 2021
Not a great place to work! Your skillset is not utilised efficiently. Many of the managers and higher management staff are not qualified and fit for their roles. Job security is good but pay and work life balance is poor.
Pros
Lot of projects and clients
Cons
Long hours, low salary

Productive and Nice Management
Assistant Consultant (Former Employee) - Newbury, Berkshire - 4 November 2021
I have spent almost 6.5 years in TCS and If I start talk about the good side then it will take long time to finish. In short, I can say that it is one of the good IT industry I ever came across. All people are are work as team to achieve something big, they always not look for the goal rather they believe in something which can grow in the future, which makes customer happy. You will always get motivation and support from your senior management to grow in your career path and entire organisation work and performance structure is build based this truth. People get all support to grow in their personal believe and thought.
Pros
Medical Benefits, On-site Opportunity, Many learning program to increase your salary
Cons
Job Work-Life balance, over commitment to customer
